Hortin Makes Straight Flush, Simpson's Boat Sinks

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action started on the turn in a heads-up put between Conrad Simpson and Dylan Hortin. There was about 45,000 in the pot. The board showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

From the big blind, Hortin checked to Simpson, who bet 25,000. After some thinking, Hortin moved all in for 61,000. Simpson made the call immediately.

Dylan Hortin: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Conrad Simpson: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Hortin had the straight, but Simpson had lots of outs with trips and the open-ender of his own. The river paired the board when the {j-Clubs} hit, giving Simpson the full house. Unlucky for him, though, it also gave Hortin the rare straight flush the take down the pot and keep his tournament hopes alive.

"I closed my eyes there for a minute," said Hortin, only to open them when a tablemate said, "Woah, straight flush."

Josephy Gives It Up

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded around to Cliff Josephy in the small blind and he limped. The big blind checked his option to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

Josephy checked on a flop of {4-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs} and then called when his opponent led out for 4,000.

Both players checked through the {3-Diamonds} turn to see the {2-Diamonds} river. Josephy then checked for a third time and folded when the big blind tossed 5,000 into the middle. Despite losing the pot, Josephy is still sitting on a comfortable stack of 603,000 in his search for another deep run in the main event after finishing 3rd in the 2016 edition.

On the river of a {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} board, Nico Neizert checked out of the big blind and then faced a bet worth 80,000 by Robert Nur from one seat over. Neizert was sent into the tank for more than four minutes, shook his head and sent the cards into the muck. Several players at the table guessed he may have folded ace-queen but no cards at all were shown.

Sutton Scores a Big One

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The heads-up action was joined with around 80,000 already in the middle and a board of {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts} on the table.

Eric Sutton, the big blind, checked to his opponent in the big blind, who fired for 62,000. Sutton raised to 125,000 and earned a call.

On the {5-Clubs} river, Sutton led out for 194,000. After a bit of thought, his opponent tossed in a single chip to make the call. Sutton turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for trip jacks. The opponent, before mucking or revealing his hand, just started counting out the 194,000 that he had just called, and sent the chips the way of Sutton, and his cards the way of the muck.

Refaelowitz Chips up with Cowboys

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} opponents Moshe Refaelowitz and Ryan Ko were battling heads-up. Moshe led out for 27,000 and Ko quickly called.

The turn was the [4] and Moshe bet big again for 72,000 and Ko showed no fear as he called.

On the river {9-Diamonds}, Moshe seemed to look off in the distance as if deep in thought.

"How much do you have left?" he aksed of Ko.

"About 300,000," Ko replied.

Then Moshe placed out a huge bet of 190,000 and Ko quickly threw a chip in, only to see Moshe roll over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for an overpair. Ko quickly mucked and counted out the chips to give to Moshe who now chipped up to over one million.

"I thought I was trapping you" Ko told Moshe.

"You have ace-queen?" someone at the table inquired.

"I mean yeah, what am I supposed to do?" Ko responded, deflated.
