Peters Takes a Pot

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

David Peters has been busy building a stack on Day 3. Peters opened to 6,000 from under the gun and received a single call from Karim Rebei in middle position.

Action checked through the {q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop to the {k-Spades} turn where Peters led out for 6,000. That bet alone was enough to get a fold and keep Peters chipping up. Rebei, meanwhile, has continued to build on his momentum from Day 2, surpassing the 1,000,000 mark.

On a completed board of {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} with around 180,000 in the middle, Shiraz Lall was put to the test. Facing off against Adrian Mateos, he was met with the all-in shove by the Spaniard with the covering stack and the reluctant fold by Lall followed.

Kollar Chips Up

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Luke Vrabel opened to 5,000 from middle position and was called by Ryusuke Daifuku from the cutoff. PokerNews Cup third-place finisher Forrest Kollar then made it 22,000 on the button. Only Daifuku called.

Kollar continued for 18,000 on the {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. It looked like Daifuku wanted to ship in his stack but in the end, he decided to fold.

Entine Forces a Fold from Rudolph

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a heads-up pot, the flop was {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} and Christian Rudolph checked at first from the small blind. Oliver Entine bet 5,000 in the hijack and Rudolph responded by raising it to 14,500. Entine tanked for some time and fired 35,500. After some thinking, Rudolph let it go.

Stoker Under Pressure

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

A raise to 6,000 was in front of Takahiro Sasabe on the button and Ryan Stoker then made it 23,000 to go, forcing out any other potential players involved in the hand. Once it was back on Sasabe, he pushed all-in with the far superior stack and that sent Stoker into the tank.

He ultimately shrugged, shook his head and sent the cards into the muck.

Abernathy Busts in Brutal Fashion

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Samantha Abernathy
Samantha Abernathy

Samantha Abernathy opened to 5,500 before Mike Gao made it 22,000. The 888poker ambassador then moved all in for around 110,000 and was snap-called.

Samantha Abernathy: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Mike Gao: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Both players had cowboys and it was very likely that each player would take back their stacks. However, the {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop gave Gao some backdoor flush possibilities. The {4-Diamonds} turn gave Gao outs to scoop and the {9-Diamonds} river gave him a flush as well as the elimination.

Ghio Hits River; Vankeuren on Fumes

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a heads-up flop of {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Zachary Vankeuren checked to Joe Ghio, who bet 16,000 and Vankeuren called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and both players opted for a check.

On the river {2-Diamonds}, Vankeuren led out for 22,000 and after checking his cards one more time, Ghio made the call.

Vankeuren did not look too happy with the call and he flashed {8-Clubs}{5-} before basically throwing it away and Ghio tabled {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a rivered queen-high flush.

Ghio chipped up to 200,000 while Vankeuren was left with 23,000.

Turchi Chipping Up on Baldwin

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jesse Sylvia opened to 5,500 in early position and Virgile Turchi called next to him. It folded to Eric Baldwin in the big blind who three-bet to 26,000. Sylvia got out of the way but Turchi decided to call.

The flop fanned {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Baldwin continued for 15,000. Turchi tanked a minute and called again. On the {3-Diamonds} turn, Baldwin fired 30,000 and Turchi thought about for a few minutes before calling as well.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board and this time both players checked. Turchi turned over {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and it was good to claim the pot as Baldwin quickly sent {10-}{x-} into the muck.

Heine Bests Glaser

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Benny Glaser opened to 6,000 from middle position and was called by Keith Heine in the cutoff as well as the big blind.

Both the big blind and Glaser checked on a flop of {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Heine led out for 7,000. That bet was unable to shake either of his opponents, both of whom called.

Action checked through the {9-Clubs} turn to the {4-Hearts} river where the big blind checked for a third time. Glaser fired off 41,000 and was quickly called by Heine while the big blind folded. Glaser flipped over {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the turned two pair but it was not good enough as Heine revealed he held {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for top set.
