Da Silva Jams Into Herzali

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With some 130,000 in the middle to the {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, Sarah Herzali checked and Chris Da Silva bet 35,000 from one seat over. Both then checked the {9-Spades} on the turn and the {7-Hearts} followed on the river. Herzali opted to bet 47,000 and Da Silva tanked for a short while before he pushed all-in for 195,000.

That now sent Herzali into the tank. Six minutes into the first break of the day, Da Silva called the clock on her and thirty seconds ran down without any decision. As the pot was shipped to Da-Silva, he pulled his cards back from the muck and let Herzali see the aces. "I never show my cards," the Brit said on his way out as Herzali mentioned she was very close to calling with kings that didn't include the {k-Spades}.

D'Ambrosio Gets Caught Bluffing at Small Pot; "Just Giving Them the Rope-A-Dope"

Niveau 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Just before break, Jimmy D'Ambrosio raised the button to 8,000 and Austin Apicella defended from the big blind.

They saw the {4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop and Apicella check-called 10,000 from D'Ambrosio.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and both players checked to the {4-Diamonds}. Apicella checked a third time and D'Ambrosio bet 17,500. Apicella snap-called.

D'Ambrosio showed {10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a missed flush draw, while Apicella had the winner with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} pocket sixes.

"Three in a row for you," said D'Ambrosio.

"Well when you make it that easy," said Apicella.

"I'm just setting you up for the million chip pot," quipped D'Ambrosio. "The rope-a-dope."

"Two to one," said Apicella referring to their personal heads-up score.

"Oh yeah," said D'Ambrosio. "Not three in a row."

Zogman Doubles Through Moncek

Niveau 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Michael Moncek bet 8,000 on the {7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and Daniel Zogman shoved for 41,000. Moncek quickly called.

Daniel Zogman: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Michael Moncek: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Zogman's aces were in front of the pair of kings and the runout was clean as Moncek took a small hit.

JC Tran is still healthy on that table, and Kenny Tran is one table over on a big stack.

Begleiter Holding Steady

Niveau 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Steven Begleiter, who finished 6th in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for a career high $1,587,160, entered the day as a relative big stack with 319,500. He has not gotten off to an ideal start on Day 3, however, slipping down the counts to below average.

Begleiter opened to 6,500 from middle position and was called by Michael Morton out of the small blind.

Morton checked on a flop of {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Begleiter continued for 6,500. It was enough to force Morton out of the hand and help Begleiter start to reverse his downward trend.

Lococo Chips Up in Small Pot

Niveau 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Heads-up to the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, Cristoph Ang checked out of the blinds and then called a bet worth 6,500 by Alejandro Lococo from under the gun. The {5-Hearts} turn was checked and Ang bet the {3-Clubs} on the river for 14,000. Lococo called and won the pot with the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, as Ang only had the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.
