Hong Continues to Grind on Day 4

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With around 50,000 already in the middle on the {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, Ivan Starostin, from the hijack, put in a continuation bet of 25,000.

Jeffrey Hong, from the big blind, then put in a raise of 105,000. Starostin called.

On the {8-Clubs} turn, Hong opted to check. Starostin decided on the check as well.

On the {3-Spades} river, Hong reached into his giant stack of red chips, worth 5,000 each, and put a massive tower in front of him. A count revealed that the bet size was 145,000.

Starostin deliberated for roughly 30 seconds before sliding his cards into the muck.

Hong started the day with 113,000 in chips and is now at 695,000, which is roughly the current average stack.

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action was caught on the {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} completed board with 120,000 in the pot.

Abdullah Alshanti checked in early position and Zilong Zhang bet 115,000 to put the action back on Alshanti.

"You double checked your cards!" exclaimed Zhang. "They never have it when they check their cards," he added.

Alshanti smiled and said he had a big flush draw and exposed the {k-Clubs}, as he mucked. Zhang returned in kind and displayed his {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of tens.

The {9-Hearts} fell on the turn, dubbed "the sexiest card in the deck" by a player across the table, although the two players in the hand may not have felt the same way, as they both checked the turn and the {7-Spades} river.

Lewis tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a rivered straight to defeat his opponent's {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and the French bracelet winner added to his stack.
