Guillette Takes from Hui

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Jean Guillette opened to 30,000 from under the gun and Loni Hui flat-called as the player next to act to get the hand heads-up.

Guillette checked on the flop of {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Hui bet 25,000. Guillette check-raised to 100,000 and Hui called. The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and Guillette moved all in for around 250,000. Hui quickly folded.

Another Round of Chip Counts

Josephy Gets Flush to Fold, Up to 1.5 Million

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy

A player in early position opened to 25,000 and Mikolaj Zawadzki raised to 80,000 from middle position. Cliff Josephy cold-called from the hijack and the original raiser folded.

The flop came out {4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Mikolaj Zawadzki came out firing for 135,000. Josephy called.

On the {3-Diamonds} turn, both players tapped the table. However, on the {5-Hearts} river, Zawadzki came out firing for 165,000. Josephy then went all in for over a million and Zawadzki snap-folded, showing {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flopped flush.

Josephy then flipped over the {a-Clubs} and the table would go on about whether or not Josephy had it for the next minute or two, with Josephy adamant that he, in fact, had the nut flush.

Big Hands on the Feature Table; Luske Gets Eliminated

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Farah Galfond
Farah Galfond

Thu Nguyen opened to 35,000 with {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} from under the gun before Farah Galfond three-bet to 85,000 with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Fernando Viana Da Costa, with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, reraised to 200,000 on the button.

Nguyen continued the trend and jammed for 900,000 and Galfond immediately moved back into her chair and found herself in an uncomfortable situation. She found a way to fold and Da Costa followed suit soon after.

It looked liked there would be fireworks but sparks failed to ignite in the end.

As the hand ended, action panned to a side feature table where Marcel Luske was all-in for his tournament life. He was up against Matas Cimbolas and was a favorite headed to the runout

Marcel Luske: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Matas CImbolas: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} board meant Luske was eliminated in cruel fashion and he left the tournament area.

Hannawa Puts Smith in the Blender

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Dan Smith opened to 30,000 from the button and got one caller, Danny Hannawa in the big blind.

The flop showed up {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Hannawa check-called a bet of 35,000 from Smith.

The {5-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, Hannawa checked again. Smith ramped up the price with a bet of 190,000. Hannawa again called to take the pot to the river.

The extremely-connecting {a-Spades} hit the river, and Hannawa would be doing no more checking. He led with an all-in bet, 550,000, about 70 percent of Smith's remaining stack. Smith sat up in his chair, counted down his stack, and thought through the hand. After thinking for about two minutes, he let it go and the dealer shipped the pot to Hannawa.

Imsirovic Pips and Busts Opponent

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Ali Imsirovic
Ali Imsirovic

On a {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop with nearly a million in the pot, it appeared as though a player in middle position was already all-in, while Ali Imsirovic was on the button and bet to make another player fold.

At-Risk Player: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Ali Imsirovic: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {2-Hearts} turn left the at-risk player needing a river jack to survive, but the {k-Clubs} completed the board to eliminate him, while Imsirovic added to his stack shortly before the table was set to move to the PokerGO stream.

"That could've been his only chance to play on the feature table in the Main Event," a player at the table remarked.

"It'll be your first and last time," replied another.

Cynn Can't Make Flush for Survival

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
John Cynn
John Cynn

Action crossed back to one of the outer feature tables and John Cynn was all-in and at risk to Sean Troha.

The 2018 Main Event winner was an underdog with his {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} but found hope on the {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Troha, however, strengthened his hand to a pair of aces. The {8-Spades} turn and {j-Spades} river were not what Cynn was looking for and his Main Event run came to a halt.

"Any-Two Cards" Not Quite Working for Zhang Anymore

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Zilong Zhang
Zilong Zhang

The action folded around to Zilong Zhang in the small blind who greeted his new tablemate Dan Smith with a raise to 55,000. Smith called from the big blind and the dealer spread the flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Zhang led out with a full pot-sized bet of 125,000 and Smith announced a raise to 265,000. Smith barely got the words out of his mouth before Zhang dropped in a stack of 100,000 chips.

Smith's eyes got wide as he contemplated his decision for his stack of 705,000. Smith eventually called and the cards were tabled.

Dan Smith: {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Zilong Zhang: {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Smith was well in front with a pair of sixes and the {j-Diamonds}, {a-Spades} runout was clean as Smith was welcomed with a double-up.

Josephy Drops a Bit at New Table

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Cliff Josephy was recently moved across the room to a new table, and in one of his early hands there dropped a few chips.

After Nico Schubert opened to 30,000 in the cutoff, Josephy three-bet to 120,000 from the big blind.

Schubert called and the duo saw a flop of {j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. They each checked to see the {3-Diamonds} fall on the turn.

Again they checked, and on the {2-Hearts} river, Josephy led out for 30,000.

Schubert just called and Josephy showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, but Schubert tabled {a-Spades}{8-Spades} for a winning top pair.
