Marco Johnson Eliminated in 6th Place ($56,528)

Marco Johnson

Badeucey

Marco Johnson raised on the button and Chad Eveslage three-bet from the big blind. Johnson called and drew two as Eveslage drew one.

After the first draw, Eveslage bet and Johnson called as both players drew one. Eveslage bet again and stood pat as Johnson called and drew one. Eveslage bet once more after the final draw and Johnson tossed in a reluctant call.

"This one's gonna hurt," he said.

"I've got a nine," said Eveslage as he showed 98743 to win the pot as Johnson mucked to be left with crumbs.

The next hand, Dustin Dirksen raised and Johnson three-bet jammed his remaining chips. Eveslage and Dirksen both called and drew two as Johnson drew one.

Dirksen and Eveslage both checked and drew two after the first draw and Johnson again drew one. Both players checked again after the second draw and Eveslage drew two as his opponents drew one.

Eveslage check-folded after a bet from Dirksen on the final draw who showed 76432 for a seven-six low and a seven badugi to beat out Johnson's A973 as he hit an ace on the final draw.

"Stupid badeucey hands," Johnson murmured as he was eliminated in sixth place.

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Marco Johnson opened to 70,000 in the cutoff before Zack Freeman potted on the button. Johnson four-bet all in and Freeman called with a bigger stack.

Marco Johnson: AAQQ
Zack Freeman: A1032

The flop landed J102 to give Freeman the lead with two pair and the 7 turn gave him a nut low draw to go with it. Unfortunately for him, the K peeled off on the river to give Johnson Broadway to scoop the pot and double up.

"I knew any paint was good," Johnson said after seeing the river card.

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Chad Eveslage made it 55,000 to go on the button and Dutch Boyd three-bet to 200,000 in the small blind. Mike Gorodinsky then four-bet jammed for more than 500,000 and Eveslage folded while Boyd called very quickly.

Boyd patted and the same applied for Gorodinsky as well.

Boyd rolled over the 9x7x6x3x2x and Gorodinsky nodded, exposing his slightly inferior 9x8x7x3x2x before heading to the payout desk. The runner-up of the previous year in this event finishes in 7th place for $42,965.

No-Limit Hold'em

Chad Eveslage raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Dustin Dirksen three-bet to 200,000 on the button. The call by Eveslage followed and they headed to the Q85 flop on which Dirksen applied maximum pressure with a shove. Eveslage called and Dirksen instantly asked "do you have queens?"

Chad Eveslage: KK
Dustin Dirksen: AK

Dirksen had one overcard to go with his nut flush draw but failed to get there on the 5 turn and Q river. Eveslage doubled for 1,005,000 and jumped into the lead.

Goindoo had run his kings into aces and couldn't improve as the board ran out 7Q326 to give Boyd a better low to go with his aces as Goindoo hit the rail ahead of the unofficial final table draw.

Badeucey

Picking things up after the first draw Zack Freeman checked and Dustin Dirksen bet. John Hennigan, who in the previous hand had let out a startled scream as he thought the dealer was about to turn over a flop when he was in fact delivering three cards to Ryan Goindoo, moved all in for 40,000. Both opponents called and each player drew one.

Freeman check-called again after the second draw and drew one with Hennigan and Dirksen stood pat. Freeman then check-folded after the third draw and Dirksen showed 7 / 6542 for a seven low and six badugi to best the six-time bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Famer's A / 9754.

Dustin Dirksen opened to 30,000 as the first player to act and Jordan Siegel three-bet all in for 83,000 from the cutoff. Zack Freeman then four-bet to around 300,000 from the small blind and stood pat as Dirksen folded.

Siegel groaned as he considered breaking his hand with his kids sweating the action from the rail.

"Can you at least show my son your hand?" Siegel asked Freeman. "He probably won't even understand it."

Eventually Siegel stood pat with 98742, but it wasn't enough to beat the 98632 of his opponent as he joined his son and daughter behind the ropes.

Paul Volpe Eliminated in 11th Place ($25,822)

No-Limit Hold'em

Much to the surprise of everyone else at the table, Chad Eveslage selected No-Limit Hold'em instead of his usual Badeucey and then raised from under the gun. Paul Volpe called out of the big blind. On a flop of 1093, both invested 55,000 and that led to the 6 turn on which Volpe checked.

Eveslage bet 160,000 and Volpe called after short consideration, then checked the 5 on the river. With the superior stack, Eveslage pushed all-in and Volpe called within fewer than five seconds.

Eveslage tabled the 33 for a set and Volpe mucked the AA to bow out in 11th place.

"For the first time in his life, he calls NLHE and hits a set in the first hand ..." Marco Johnson stated in table chat. Mike Gorodinsky chimed in "that's really scary, man ... really scary".

Volpe showed 87432 for an eight-seven smooth and it was good to win the pot as his opponent mucked in defeat.

Johnson raised and Bohlman gasped a brief smile before he moved forward the chips, seemingly knowing that his fate had already been sealed.

Johnson announced a straight and showed his six to go with it, while Bohlman's seven-six couldn't earn a chop.
