Set Over Set Gives Ng Victory
Niveau 12
: Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
A player in late position raised to 9,000 preflop. Brian Ng then raised to 27,000 from the hijack, causing the previously-limped other players to fold. The late position player then went all in for approximately 42,000, and Ng made a snap call.
Late Position: 9♣9♥
Brian Ng: J♦J♥
Ng fell behind on the 9♠K♠A♠ flop, but turned a straight draw when the 10♥ came. Ng did not need the straight, though, as the J♠ river gave him the higher set and sent his opponent out of the tournament area.
