The Final Entry Day of The Gladiators of Poker Begins Today at 10 AM

Event #18: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold’em will see it's final day of registration begin today at 10 a.m. with the total number of the prior three flights' entrants sitting at 14,635. No doubt it will be the biggest field of the 2023 World Series of Poker. The initial guarantee has been smashed and the prize pool currently sits at $3,603,162, meaning the player who wins will get a hefty return on their investment.

After the first three days of play, it was Patrick White who ended as the tournament big stack with 3,405,000. Many notables found their way into Day 2 already including the always colorful Justin Arnwine (3,080,000), Wesley Cannon (1,880,000), Daniel Buzgon (855,000), Angela Jordison (520,000), and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu (2,250,000). Each of them looking for a piece of this massive prize pool.

Many players are expected to fire at least once today. Players like Ashley “PokerFaceAsh” Frank, Steve Wilkie, Kris Burchfield, Preston McEwen, and Rich Alsup all look to be among the contenders of today and with registration closing at the conclusion of Level 11, about 4:30 p.m., and they will have the option to reenter twice before then.

Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 starting chips. Levels will start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and each will last 30 minutes. After every four levels, players will go on a 20-minute break, with a 75-minute dinner break occurring at the conclusion of Level 15 (about 6:30 p.m.). Players will return and play until the end of Level 22 before bagging up chips. Due to the expected size of this field, tables will be spread all over the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Baime Scoops A Limped Pot

The flop rolled out K107 and the big blind bet 1,500 which saw a player in middle position call and Baime in late position call.

The turn peeled off the 9 and action checked over to Baime who bet 7,000 which only the middle position player called.

On the 7 river, the middle posiiton player took the betting lead to the tune of 8,000 and Baime called.

Middle position turned over 86 for a straight to the ten, but Baime had that beat with QJ for a straight to the king and the WSOP bracelet winner took down the pot.

"Put the Green Tea In"

The flop came 793. The small blind bet 1,700 before calling Land's reraise of 3,600.

The turn brought the 8. The small blind bet a single red 5,000-value chip, and Land threw in one of his own a half-second later.

The 7 hit the river. Land's opponent checked to him, and he went all in for his remaining 8,500. His opponent began to think, as Land sipped on his green tea.

"As he sips green tea," said Land aloud, attempting to write his own story. After a minute, the small blind folded.

"Put the green tea in," said Land as he took down the pot uncontested.

Richardson Bluffs With the Best Hand

Action was picked up on the river in a pot between Ian Richardson on the button and another player in middle position.

With 23,500 in the middle, the middle position player checked over to Richardson who moved all in for 14,300. The middle position player went into the tank and eventually tossed in the call.

"Sevens," Richardson said shaking his head and turning over 77. His opponent looked back at his hand and tossed his hand into the muck, rendering it unretrievable and Richardson took down the pot to double.

Merk tossed in the call and her opponent turned over A5 for just ace high. Merk turned over AK for a pair of kings with an ace kicker and she raked in a sizable three-bet pot to add to her growing chip stack.
