There was a late position open to 25,000 when Lisa Surdyka went all in with 75,000 for her tournament life. The player on the button next to act went into the tank for well over a minute and eventually landed on a three bet to 125,000. The original raiser folded and the two players cards hit their back.
Lisa Surdyka: A♥K♦
Button Player: J♥J♦
The 6♦7♣8♣ flop left the hope for Surdyka pretty low. The 2♣ hit the turn but neither player held a club. Like a money miracle the A♣ hit the river and Surdyka had life in the tournament just minutes before the bubble.
Action was joined with a flop of 8♥7♣3♠ with the player in early position already all in preflop. Jerry Janofsky bet enough to put the button all in, and the button called for their remaining 150,000.
Under the Gun: A♠5♠
Button: K♥K♠
Jerry Janofsky: 8♠7♠
Janofsky's two pair held up on the 9x4x runout, and he took out two players.
For Phil Hellmuth, whose 16 bracelets (and counting) may never be touched, one of those perks is his own personal break room at Horseshoe Las Vegas. That's a nice benefit especially on 90-minute dinner breaks.
Hellmuth granted PokerNews access to his small but intimate break room, which is in an undisclosed location. "Don't disclose the location. I don't need fans knocking on the door seeking autographs while I'm trying to rest," the Poker Hall of Famer joked.
Tournament officials have restarted play after the dinner break. 1,376 remain out of 8,467 entrants. 1,271 make the money and will earn a minimum cash of $480.
Natalie Ramos moved all in from early position for 76,000 and another player moved all in from the hijack which saw everyone else fold.
Natalie Ramos: A♦J♥
Opponent: A♠K♠
The flop rolled out J♠10♠5♣ which put Ramos in the lead, but left her opponent drawing to a royal flush. The board runout came A♥9♥ and Ramos' two pair was good for the double.
