Same Same But Different
With a limp under the gun in front of him, Kevin Rand potted it to 880,000 and it folded to Stephen Nahm, in the blind, who repotted it. When it folded back to Rand he thought a bit and counted how many chips he had left behind. Begrudgingly, he put his chips in the middle and said, "Okay..." When Nahm rolled his hand, Rand was amused saying, "Hey, we have the same hand."
Kevin Rand: A♠Q♠7♥4♥
Stephen Nahm: A♥Q♥5♦3♦
The board came out in favor of Nahm when the dealer spread 10♣9♦5♥, pairing one of his danglers. Rand didn't feel much better on the turn, maybe not realizing on the 4♣ that he had gained at least a couple more outs. When the 4♦ peeled on the river, it took the dealer's announcement for him to realized he rivered three of a kind.
At this point Dan Matsuzuki chimed in, "Trippin'!" to which Nahm laughed and said, "Trippin' balls!". The ladder is now on his fourth beer and remains jovial. Nahm was seen sprinting back to the table at color up because his tablemates informed him he was in the blind. Beers gotta go somewhere.
