Holst Eliminates Opponent With Queens
Niveau 7
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
In a heads-up pot with close to 45,000 in the middle on a flop showing 8♦5♠3♥, Michael Holst checked from early position to a player in the cutoff who moved all in for just over 20,000. Holst made the call and the cards were on their backs.
Opponent: 9♣9♦
Michael Holst: Q♠Q♥
Both players had an overpair to the board but the queens for Holst were well in the lead. The board ran out 6♠J♦ and the queens held up to score the pot and send Holst's opponent to the exit.
"Are you going to rebuy?" asked a player at the table.
"Nope, it's nap time for me," said the cutoff before making his way to the door.
