Salvaggi Grabs a Bounty and a Huge Influx of Chips

Niveau 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Joseph Salvaggi
Joseph Salvaggi

Pokernews caught up with Joseph Salvaggi who gave us the scoop on a big hand that had just went down. There was an early position open to 360,000 and next to act jammed for 1,400,000. Salvaggi then rejams for 3,700,000, the big blind flats the 3,700,000 and the original raiser folded. The players are off to a runout three ways with the cards on their back.

First Raiser: KxQx
Joseph Salvaggi: JJ
Big Blind: AxKx

The 822 flop landed and Salvaggi stayed in the lead. The 9 turn and 10x river are clean and Salvaggi scored a bounty and a huge boost in chips.

Liang Picks Up Final $1,000,000 Bounty

Niveau 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Patrick Liang
Patrick Liang

Just after peeling an envelope worth $25,000, Patrick Liang found himself back up on the main stage looking to improve on his previous score. After he revealed that the first number in the envelope was a one, he had locked up at least $100,000 but had a 50/50 shot to grab the final $1,000,000. That is precisely what happened as, jumping in the air with a few fist pumps mixed in, he held the sheet of paper confirming his huge payday aloft. When asked what he will spend his newfound wealth on, he responded in a charitable manner that the first order of business would be to give everyone at his table $1,000.

Although the top bounties are now gone, the remaining players still have a lot to play for with a $250,000 bounty still up for grabs and $1,000,000 awaiting the eventual tournament winner.

Nally Check-Raises to Victory

Niveau 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

A player in early position raised to 350,000, the cutoff called and Ronan Nally defended in the big blind.

The flop came 525. Nally checked and the original raiser continued for 400,000. The cutoff folded but Nally chose to reraise to 1,100,000. The original raiser folded and Nally started to close in on the 9,000,000 mark.

Hashimoto Avoids Elimination

Niveau 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

A player in the cutoff attacked Akira Hashimoto's big blind with a raise to 275,000. In response, Hashimoto came over the top and piled the rest of his stack into the middle for 1,800,000. After some time in the tank the opponent made the call.

Akira Hashimoto: A7
Cutoff: 77

The pocket sevens were in dominating position heading to a flop and remained that way as the board ran out 422J10, a safe board for Hashimoto as he doubled up.

Schehen Sends Two Players to the Rail

Niveau 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

There was an early position jam and Terrence Schehen rejammed. It folded to the big blind who thought for over a minute before putting in the call. With the cards on their back we saw it was a race.

Early Position: 77
Big Blind: AQ
Terrence Schehen: 66

The 3AJ flop catapulted the big blind into the lead. The 8 turn brought no help but the 6 river landed like a bomb, blowing the small stacks out of the tournament. Schehen scored a double knockout and two bounties.

Big Blind's Error Earns Brown More Chips

Niveau 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Tyler Brown opened from middle position to 435,000 only to be met by the button who shoved all in for their remaining 2,300,000. The big blind, however, did not see the all-in and simply called the original open from Brown. Once informed of this all-in the floor was called to explain to the player in the big blind that he had to either call the all-in or forfeit the 435,000 that lay out in front of him and fold.

Settling on the latter, Tyler called off the jam and both players' hands went to showdown.

Button: K8
Tyler Brown: KQ

The board ran out 73Q22 sending the pot, made larger by the player in the big blind, to Brown.
