Heads-up on a flop of Q♦J♦6♣, Chris Vitch bet 5,000 from middle position before Doug Lorgeree raised in the big blind to 13,000.
Vitch called as they saw the 10♦ fall on the turn. Lorgeree fired out another 17,000 and Vitch called once again.
The 9♦ river put four to a straight flush on the board and Lorgeree slowed down and checked. Vitch checked behind and Lorgeree showed A♥Q♣ for top pair. Vitch, though, had K♣Q♠ for a rivered straight to win the pot.
"I folded the ace of diamonds," tablemate Philip Sternheimer said as no one at this table, which also includes Mori Eskandani, admitted to folding the potential straight flush.

2-7 Triple Draw
Justin Hott opened from the cutoff and was called by Hye Park in the small blind.
Both players took two cards on the first draw. Park then check-called a bet from Hott.
The second draw saw Park again take two cards while Hott opted for just one. Park checked and Hott fired off another bet, once more getting called.
On the final draw both Park and Hott took one last card after which Park bet, getting a quick fold from his opponent to leave Hott short approaching the bubble.

2-7 Triple Draw
Hye Park bet after the first draw and was called by Justin Hott and Walter Chambers.
Park and Hott took one, while Chambers drew two. All three players checked and took one on the final draw.
Action checked to Hott who now fired out a bet. Park quickly mucked, but Chambers starred down his opponent for a few moments before calling.
"King," Hott said with an air of resignation as he was prepared to surrender the pot. Chambers, though, showed an ace and Hott, much to his surprise, won the pot.
"Holy shit," he cried out.
"Did you fold the winner," tablemate Schuyler Thornton asked Park.

Five-time bracelet winner and 1998 Main Event Champion Scotty Nguyen will miss the first half of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) as the Vietnamese-American poker icon recovers from surgery.
Nguyen, always a fan-favorite of WSOP, took to Twitter earlier this week to announce he was undergoing surgery for slipping rib syndrome, a condition that can cause severe chest pain in addition to "a slipping, clicking, or popping sensation in the lower chest," according to an article published in Psychopharmacology Bulletin.
But it's not all over, baby. Nguyen tweeted today to let his fans know that the surgery was a success and that he hopes to recover in time for the second half of the WSOP.

“I want to let you guys know the surgery (recovery) is going so well," Nguyen said in a video. "Right now, on both sides (it) is sore and swollen and I have trouble to get in and out of bed. But I have my wife, Julie, she (is) right there to help me sitting up or standing up.”
“I love all of you, baby. See you in the second half at the World Series in Vegas.”

Schuyler Thornton moved all in for his last 22,000 on the button and was called by Hye Park in the small blind.
Schuyler Thornton: K♠6♠
Hye Park: 8♦8♠
Thornton was in rough shape, that is until the flop came K♥K♦J♥ to propel him into the lead. The 9♦ turn changed nothing with the 5♦ river confirming a full double for Thornton.

Ryutaro Suzuki three-bet before the flop and Scott Bohlman called in the big blind, as did Justin Liberto in early position.
The flop came K♠6♥Q♥ and Bohlman led out with a bet. Both opponents called to the 4♠ turn.
Bohlman now bet again and Liberto called, but Suzuki put in another raise and Bohlman and Liberto both called.
The river came the A♥ and Liberto now opened the betting. Suzuki quickly called, while Bohlman considered the decision for a few moments before mucking.
Liberto turned over 8♥5♥A♣5♣ for a flush and a low as he scooped the pot.
