Wong Makes Right Call

On a heads-up completed board of 2♣6♦J♣J♠A♦, there was around 450,000 in the middle when Chunlung Wong led out for 50,000 from late position.

His opponent in the hijack, Lester Edoc, then announced he was all in, covering Wong.

Wong then went deep into the tank for several minutes, at which point a player called the clock on him and he was given 30 seconds to act.

As his timer reached zero, Wong made the call and was shown K♦Q♠ for king-high by Edoc while he proudly turned over A♥Q♦ for top two-pair.

"Wow, 100% you're never folding there!" Tablemate Frederic Normand commented, "You have top pair!"

Ratkovich was in a dominant position, but the flop of 9♥7♣5♠ produced some light for Nikzad by pairing a nine.

The K♠ turn left Moris drawing dead, but the Q♠ river gave Nikzad two pair and completed a triple up. Moris headed to the exit and Ratkovich gathered in the 660,000 side pot.

Moore’s Pocket Pair Holds Up

Charles Moore was in middle position and involved in a postflop hand against Richard Peterson, who was on the button.

Moore, however, dug in throughout the hand in the face of aggression on a board showing 3♥5♥3♠. The player in the big blind was also in the hand, and he and Moore checked to Peterson, who bet 150,000, which both players called.

The 2♦ appeared on the turn, and the action once again checked to Peterson, who fired 275,000. The big blind folded, but Moore called.

The dealer placed Q♣ on the river, leading to Moore and Peterson checking.

Peterson tabled 5♠4♠, but saw his hand wasn’t good when Moore showed 9♣9♠ for the wining hand.

On a multi-way flop of 7♦9♦3♥, action checked to Jared Jaffee who led out for 155,000 and was only called by Koveh Waysei to his left.

The two then went heads-up to the turn 10♦ which saw another continuation from Jaffee for 365,000, but then Waysei moved all in for over 2,000,000, covering Jaffee.

Jaffee then went into the tank for a good while, checking and re-checking his cards, throwing his hands up, and counting his chips over and over.

Eventually, he decided to throw it away, and based on the table talk that followed, Jaffee admitted to having an over pair while Waysie held nine-ten for two pair.
