Scotty Robinson Is Playing For Something Greater

Niveau 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Scott Robinson
Scott Robinson

It has been nearly one year since Scotty Robinson played poker in Las Vegas. The family man and father of three, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, makes it a yearly trip to go with his wife and three children.

Last summer while Robinson was playing in the series, he received the call that his youngest son, Chance Robinson, was diagnosed with Leukemia. His son was admitted to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and has been undergoing treatment for the past 11 months. Chance's improvement has been good and he is looking to do two more years of less intense treatment for dealing with the cancer.

Scotty Robinson is now back in Vegas for the first time and donning a St. Jude's Children's Hospital shirt with a goal in mind — to donate some of the winnings to St. Jude's and hoping that others may help not just Chance "The Napper" Robinson, but all children going through sickness.

Speaking of St. Jude, you’ll also want to mark your calendar for September 7-9, 2023, which is when the CSOP will partner with St. Jude for Viva St. Jude at Resorts World. It’ll be a weekend filled with golf, fashion, food, and poker. The St. Jude charity poker event has a long history and is one of the biggest and best in the world!

Having folded on the hand in play, Johnny Chan looked up and saw that the projection screen was displaying the 2012 World Series Main Event.

"I look at that, and you know what I'm thinking?" the ten-time bracelet winner said. "I look better now than I did then. I dress better, I'm not as fat... I'm a lean fighting machine."

The hand played out on the screen, Chan flopping a set of nines, but losing when Isaac Baron made a straight on the turn. "There he goes, Hollywooding with the nuts," Chan said, chuckling. "I played it right. That was the only way to play it. And I still made a comeback after that hand."

Saechao Flexes

Niveau 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Nathan Rosenberg bet 20,000 from the big blind on a flop of K46 and Kao 'Flexx' Saechao called.

When the turn came 8, Rosenberg checked and Saechao bet 45,000, enough to put Rosenberg all in. Rosenberg went into the tank, pondering his tournament life for the next two minutes, before shaking his head and folding.

"Woo!" yelled Saechao, "Do you want to see them?" turning his cards over one by one until he had revealed AxJx10x9x4x.

"Sexy Flexxy back!" continued the excited Saechow.
