Muramalla Improves Each Street

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up in a three way pot between James Calderaro in the big blind, Venkata Muramalla in first position, and another player on the cutoff.

Action checked to Muramalla on the 965 flop where he bet 7,500 and the cutoff moved all in for 18,100 and Caldaeraro moved all in for 20,300 effective while Muramalla called.

Cutoff: A8753
Venkata Muramalla: AQ952
James Calderaro: 87654

The turn of 8 gave Muramalla the nut low, and left the other two just chopping the high with their straight, but the river 10 gave Muramalla the whole pot after making a queen-high flush paired with his nut low. The cutoff exited the tournament while Calderaro was left short.

Correia Gets a Knockout

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Sergio Correia bet 2,200 on a 855 flop and an early position player called.

Correia bet again on the K turn, enough to get his opponent all in and he called. Corriea rolled over AAQ74, for aces and eights for the high and an eight-five low draw.

The other player turned over AKQ72 for kings over eights and a better eight low draw. But the 2 river counterfeited his low, and let Correia scoop.

Split Pot Saves Ohren

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Norm Ohren and Robert Aaronoff raised a Q10K flop until they were both all in.

Norm Ohren: AJ653
Robert Aaronoff: AJ1052

Each had a straight, with no low possible, but Aaronoff had the diamond flush redraw.

A 43 turn and river gave them a split pot. "I was freerolling you," said Aaronoff.

"I know, and I didn't like it," replied Ohren.

Linkenback Doubles Up

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Sergey Zaporozhets got George Linkenback all in on a flop of Q5K.

George Linkenback: AA863
Sergey Zaporozhets: J9433

Linkenback had Zaporozhets dominated with his aces and spade redraw, to Zaporozhets' gutshot straight draw but a J on the turn gave him some additional outs. Linkenback shut the door though when the river paired the king.

Drinan Dominating

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was picked up with cards on their backs on the flop in a pot between Connor Drinan out of position and another player in position in a pot worth 25,000.

The flop read J102.

Opponent: AKK23
Connor Drinan: KK1098

The turn of 3 gave the other player two pair, but left Drinan drawing to a flush draw and straight draw get either half or the whole pot.

The river peeled off the A and Drinan made a flush to take down the pot and add to his growing chip stack.

At another table, Ren Lin was eliminated from the tournament.

Dealers Earning Their Money

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Jon Turner raised preflop from the button. The big blind reraised and received a call from the hijack and Turner.

The flop came 548 and all three players got their chips in the middle.

Jon Turner: AK642
Hijack: A9532
Big Blind: AA932

The turn was the 6 and the river the Q

The high was chopped two ways and low was chopped three — plus betting on the side. It was a hand that exemplified just how hard the dealers are having to work today.
