Muramalla Improves Each Street

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up in a three way pot between James Calderaro in the big blind, Venkata Muramalla in first position, and another player on the cutoff.

Action checked to Muramalla on the 9♣6♦5♥ flop where he bet 7,500 and the cutoff moved all in for 18,100 and Caldaeraro moved all in for 20,300 effective while Muramalla called.

James Calderaro: 8♦7♥6♥5♦4♣

The turn of 8♣ gave Muramalla the nut low, and left the other two just chopping the high with their straight, but the river 10♣ gave Muramalla the whole pot after making a queen-high flush paired with his nut low. The cutoff exited the tournament while Calderaro was left short.

Correia Gets a Knockout

Sergio Correia bet 2,200 on a 8♣5♦5♠ flop and an early position player called.

Correia bet again on the K♥ turn, enough to get his opponent all in and he called. Corriea rolled over A♦A♥Q♠7♦4♦, for aces and eights for the high and an eight-five low draw.

The other player turned over A♠K♦Q♦7♥2♥ for kings over eights and a better eight low draw. But the 2♦ river counterfeited his low, and let Correia scoop.

Norm Ohren and Robert Aaronoff raised a Q♦10♦K♥ flop until they were both all in.

Each had a straight, with no low possible, but Aaronoff had the diamond flush redraw.

A 4♣3♠ turn and river gave them a split pot. "I was freerolling you," said Aaronoff.

Mather turned over 6♠5♥4♠3♥3♠ for sixes full with an eight six low, which was good against Boatman's A♣Q♠9♥7♥7♠ for a straight and an eight seven low, and Mather took down the pot.
