Talal Shakerchi raised on the button with Q♣9♠ and ran into a three-bet from Brian Rast in the small blind who held K♣K♠. Shakerchi called to see what would be a troublesome flop.

It came J♣9♥2♣, and Shakerchi called a bet from Rast to see the J♦ fall on the turn. That card would cost Shakerchi more chips, as he called another bet from Rast.

On the 10♣ river, Rast continued firing, getting one final call from Shakerchi, whose two pair fell to Rast's superior two pair.

With the win, Rast now has nearly half the chips in play.

Obst checked to Shakerchi, who bet, and the Australian star came back with a check-raise. Shakerchi peeled, leaving himself just 475,000 chips.

On the 6♣ turn Obst bet and Shakerchi now folded, preserving his now very small stack.

Down to 775,000, Talal Shakerchi pushed all-in with the Ax9x8x8x2x from under the gun and it folded to James Obst in the big blind. Obst had a sub par QxJxJx5x3x and reluctantly folded.

Kristopher Tong then raised to 375,000 with the Kx9x8x3x2x and earned folds all around.

Shakerchi jammed the 10x9x9x4x2x next for the same amount and Matthew Ashton asked for a count with the JxJx8x5x3x. Ashton called drew two while Shakerchi only tossed one of the nines.

Shakerchi paired his four but Ashton received a queen and paired the eight for Shakerchi to double.

Obst discarded two and Shakerchi took three, which gave Obst the Ax8x7x6x5x and Shakerchi the 7x7x5x4x2x. Obst bet and Shakerchi raised for Obst to call.

Obst discarded one and so did Shakerchi, which then gave Obst the 9x8x7x6x5x for a straight. Shakerchi had improved to the 7x6x5x4x2x and Obst checked, then sigh-called the all-in of Shakerchi.

Obst discarded the eight but it didn't matter anymore as the patted number two of Shakerchi had already locked up the double.

Shakerchi Gets Healthy Versus Ashton

Talal Shakerchi raised on the button with Ax10x7x3x2x and got called by Matthew Ashton in the big blind with AxKx8x5x4x. Each player then took two cards on the first draw.

Ashton's hand became Jx8x5x4x4x, while Shakerchi's was now Qx7x5x3x2x. Ashton check-called a bet from Shakerchi and then drew two, while Shakerchi drew one.

Ashton improved to 8x5x4x4x2x, while Shakerchi now held 7x5x3x3x2x. Ashton then check-called another Shakerchi bet and they each went to the final draw to take one card.

They each made hands, but Ashton's 9x8x5x4x2x was crushed by Shakerchi's 7x6x5x3x2x. Ashton however bet and was quickly raised by Shakerchi.

Ashton made the call to see the bad news, sending a big pot to Shakerchi who is firmly back in the mix.
