After calling an early position player's preflop raise from the big blind, Akshay Yeruva called the continuation bet on a flop of 4♥8♣10♥.
On a 5♦ turn the early position player slowed down and both players rapped the table.
Yeruva took the lead on the 6♣ river, betting out 2,500. When the early position player called, Yeruva showed 10♣9♣ for the win with a pair of tens.
On the next hand the cutoff raised 1,200, Yeruva popped it to 3,000, and the cutoff folded.

In middle position, a player opened to 1,200 and Farah Galfond called from the cutoff with only 17,000 chips left.
The small blind player decided to raise to 6,000 and the open-raiser moved all in for the double. Galfond folded and small blind called. It was again a classic flip with pocket queens against ace-king off suit. A King appeared on the flop and one player got eliminated.

Only 100 entrants away from last year's field, an overflow section of the field has been set up in the Horseshoe. The late registration line doubles back on itself twice in front of the cashiers cage, and then halfway down the hallway outside.
It's going to be a big one today, folks!
Niveau: 5
Blinds: 300/500
Ante: 500
Players have been sent on their first break of the day. Initially planned to last 20 minutes, this break has been extended to 30 minutes. Players will return to blinds of 300/500 with a 500 big blind ante.
With 4,428 entries already recorded, there is a good chance that the field will surpass the 4,786 mark set in last year's edition of this event.
After Martha Escobar limped, Jake Faia went all in from the button for his remaining 11,500.
Escobar struggled with the decision, shaking her head, groaning, adjusting and readjusting the strap on her messenger bag, until she grabbed the 11,500 and threw them almost not looking toward the pot.
Jake Faia: J♠J♦
Martha Escobar: 6♦6♥
The flop came 8♥3♣5♠ and then the turn 4♣ leading a tablemate to declare, "Always a sweat!"
But instead of the miracle six, deuce, or seven Escobar needed for the knockout, the board paired with the 3♦ and Faia's jacks held for the double up.

Neal Rodil bet 2,300 on a flop of 8♥5♥7♣ and the big blind called.
When the big blind checked again on a Q♦ turn, Rodil moved all in for 13,900. The big blind winced before folding, and Rodil stayed alive.
"You're going to be famous!" said a tablemate.
