Welcome to Day 1 of Event #47: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. as we approach the halfway mark of the 2023 World Series of Poker here at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Last year, Steven Albini overcame a 773-player field and defeated James Morgan heads up for his second WSOP bracelet and the $196,089 first-place prize. As has been the case with most events at the 2023 WSOP — we expect to see an even bigger field this year.
Year | Winner | Prize |
---|---|---|
2022 | Steven Albini | $196,089 |
2021 | Anthony Zinno | $160,636 |
2019 | Murilo Souza | $207,003 |
2018 | Andrey Zhigalov | $202,787 |
2017 | David Singer | $203,709 |
H.O.R.S.E. features an even rotation between Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-Better, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8-or-Better, all played in limit betting format. The rules for each of these games can be found here.
Day 1 is set to begin at 2 p.m. and continue for 15 levels lasting 40 minutes each. Players will get 15-minute breaks after every three levels and late registration will remain open until the beginning of Level 9 (~8:45 p.m.). Starting stacks will be 25,000 and Level 1 starts off at 100/200 blinds and 200/400 limits.
No reentries are allowed, so this event is a freezeout.
