As ten-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey competes in Day 2 of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP), another Poker Hall of Famer was looking for his eleventh piece of WSOP gold with a deep run in Event #41: $1,500 Big O.

Johnny Chan entered the third and final day of the Omaha event toward the bottom of the counts with 18 players remaining as the 1987 and 1988 Main Event champion hoped to finally break the three-way tie between himself, Ivey and the late Doyle Brunson in second place on the all-time bracelet list.

Sadly for poker fans sweating the $1,500 buy-in event, "The Master" was eliminated 14th place for $13,982 after a confrontation with Scott Abrams.

Allison Scoops a Big One

Niveau 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

The pot stood at approximately 1,700,000 with two players remaining.

With the board reading Q77, Troy Anderson bet out for 600,000. David Allison, who was under the gun, called.

The K slowed down Anderson and he checked the action to Allison who took the lead for 590,000. After some time in the tank, Anderson folded and the chips found their way to Allison's stack.

Ritter Puts the Heat On

Niveau 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Action folded to Eric Ritter in middle positon who opened to 200,000. The action made it to Ron Fetsch on the button who called.

The 8108 hit the flop and Ritter check-called a 200,000 bet from Fetsch. The 9 turn then checked through. The 9 landed on the river and Ritter opted to open jam having Fetsch covered. Fetsch went into the tank for about a minute but eventually folded.

Ritter made a great river bet and dragged a great pot.
