Vengrin's Persistence Pays Off

Niveau 8

Razz

Matt Vengrin: 6x2x/7x7x8x3x/Qx
Opponent 1: XxXx/8x10xKx - folded fifth street
Opponent 2: XxXx/Kx5x9x4x/Xx

Matt Vengrin raised his seven in early position and was called by an eight in late position and the bring-in with a king.

On fourth street, Vengrin paired, to cede the betting lead to the original caller who bet his eight-ten. The bring-in then raised, but Vengrin called, as did the original bettor.

Fifth street saw Vengrin pick up an eight to improve hand, but the bring-in now had the betting lead with king-nine and led out. Vengrin now raised, which shed the other player. The bring-in called.

On sixth street Vengrin improved again and after his opponent bet, he raised. His opponent called to see seventh street.

Both players now checked and Vengrin revealed his eight-seven which was the winner to score a near double-up.

Multi-way All-in Benefits Lu and Szymaszek

Niveau 9

Big O

A large pot was being sorted out on the flop which resulted in Chen Lu all in for 20,100 in the small blind and Matt Szymaszek all in for 10,700 from the big blind versus the cutoff and button.

The board read 106A and the hands were revealed.

Chen Lu: AAJ95
Matt Szymaszek: 75432
Cutoff: Q6622
Button: KKQ63

On the high side of the hand, Lu held top set versus the cutoff's bottom set and the button's nut flush draw.

For low, virtually any card under an eight would give Szymasek that half of the pot.

The A fell on the turn giving Lu quad aces, and he was a card away from a scoop if a non-pairing low card came.

The 3 came on the river instead, giving Szymaszek the low half of the pot with his six-low.
