Brar Comes Out on Top in Battle of the Aces
Niveau 7
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
The under-the-gun player raised before Jaspal Brar made it 9,000 on their direct left. Action folded back around to the original raiser who made it 30,000, leaving around 25,000 behind. Brar put in the five-bet and his opponent called off their stack.
"Must be aces versus aces," said a tablemate.
Under the gun: A♣A♠K♣3♣
Jaspal Brar: A♥A♦J♣3♦
The at risk player made a straight but was drawing dead as Brar hit the nut-flush on the Q♦J♦10♦ flop. The 7♥8♦ runout was a formality and Brar took in the pot.
