Todd Ivens raised to 70,000 in the cutoff for Benoit Galland to call out of the button. The K♦Q♥9♠ flop was checked and that brought them to the 10♦ turn. Ivens bet 150,000 and earned a reluctant call from his table neighbour.
On the 10♥ river, Ivens checked and Galland bet 325,000 to force a fold.
Stanislav Halatenko raised from under the gun to 100,000 and Bogdan Capitan called out of the big blind.
On a flop of 6♣3♣K♥ Capitan checked the action to Halatenko who bet out for 150,000. Capitan responded with a check-raise to the size of the pot. A bet of 710,000 was effectively an all-in for Capitan, enough to send Halatenko's cards to the muck.
The action over on table 672 started with a five-way limped pot to the K♥7♦4♣ flop on which it checked all the way to Ap Garza on the button, who was last to act. Garza bet 80,000 and earned a check-call only from Benoit Galland in the cutoff.
On the A♥ turn, Galland checked and Garza bet 300,000. What followed was the check-raise to 1,000,000 by Galland and the Canadian snap-called when Garza pushed all-in.
Benoit Galland: A♦A♣7♠6♦
Ap Garza: 7♥7♣6♥3♠
The inferior set of Garza still had plenty of outs with a gutshot and flush draw. However, the 4♥ river paired the board and Galland doubled for 1,375,000.
PokerNews caught the action as the full board was already dealt. With Edmund Chan, the all-in and at-risk player, against Ap Garza, the board read Q♠Q♦10♦Q♣A♦.
David Wang opened preflop action by raising to 140,000 under the gun. Action folded around to William Kopp, who defended his big blind.
The flop came 7♠J♥6♠, and Kopp checked. Wang moved all in for 255,000, and was instantly called by Kopp.
David Wang: K♦Q♥Q♠5♥
William Kopp: J♦J♠9♥5♣
Kopp was far ahead with his flopped set. The 10♦ brought Wang an open-ended straight draw, which then arrived when the A♠ hit the river. Wang's Broadway gave him the pot and kept his championship hopes alive.
Jaspal Brar got his short stack of 245,000 into the middle with the A♠K♥Q♥2♠ and he was up against the Q♦J♦J♣10♥ of Edmund Chan. They bumped fists before the showdown concluded and the board ran out 10♣8♣5♣A♣A♦ for Brar to double with trips aces.
