2023 World Series of Poker

Poker Hall of Famer and seven-time bracelet winner Billy Baxter is on the verge of closing in on his first WSOP bracelet in 21 years after making it to the final table of the $1,000 Seniors Event at the 2023 World Series of Poker.
Baxter, who sits in third place going into the final day, has had a career that has spanned six decades and has seen him earn $2,739,628 in live tournaments alone. And he's already locked up another $122,130 for making it to the final seven. If he manages to make it to at least fourth place, he will secure his biggest-ever tournament cash. Just another remarkable achievement for one of the legends of the game.
After the player under the gun opened, John Cenato in the cutoff three-bet. The button called, as well as the initial raiser.
The dealer fanned a flop of 6♠A♥J♥. Centano continued to bet, and was called only once, by the cutoff.
On the turn 10♠, Cenato bet again, and his opponent called. And when the river 2♠ came, Cenato moved all in for his last 500 chips. The cutoff called but let his hand go when Cenato revealed A♣K♠.
Players at the table played another hand right after, before the table broke.

In a three-bet pot, three players went to the flop of K♣J♥8♥. Benny Glaser was the first to throw in a bet from the big blind and Yi Ma called in the cutoff.
The turn was the 7♦ and Glaser slowed down with a check. Ma took a turn betting and Glaser called to see the 7♠ on the river. Both players tapped the table and Glaser turned over A♠J♦. Ma flashed his A♥10♥ after missing his straight and flush draws, allowing Glaser to take the pot.

The field has grown to 225 players already, surpassing the total from last year. Late registration will remain open for another two levels with roughly 192 players still in the event and taking another 15-minute break.
Quite new in the field, Shimizu Nozomu raised it up from under the gun and was only called by Moshe Gavrieli in the small blind.
On the flop 8♣Q♦5♥, Nozomu continued betting. But Gavrieli didn't give up. Then, the 9♦ came on the turn, but the action slowed down at this point as both players checked.
And when the river 4♦ appeared on the table, Gavrieli took the lead. Nozomu waited a few seconds to check his cards and think about his decision, and called with A♠K♣.
Gavrieli had 10♠7♠ for a missed straight draw and left the pot to Nozomu, who is looking for a third WSOP final table this summer.

Yaser Al-Keliddar raised from the cutoff and Bryan Pimlott three-bet on the button. Kevin Erickson four-bet from the big blind which got Al-Keliddar to fold but Pimlott called.
The flop fell K♣5♥2♥ and Erickson led out with a bet. Pimlott called and the 9♣ landed on the turn. The action was the same and the 7♦ completed the board. Erickson bet one more time and Pimlott quickly called. Erickson showed 10♥10♦ but Pimlott flopped a pair of kings with A♦K♦ to take the pot.

There are still two levels and a half to go before the end of late registration in the $3,000 Limit Hold'em (6-Handed). At this point, 221 players are already in the event, which is a higher number compared to last year when 213 players entered.
Maria Ho raised it up from under the gun and Noah Bronstein three-bet from the small blind. The big blind called and Ho came along as well. The flop came A♥10♥7♥ and Bronstein led out with a bet. The big blind folded and Ho put out a raise which Bronstein called.
The turn was the K♠ and Bronstein check-called another bet from Ho. The K♥ peeled off on the river and both players tapped the table. Bronstein turned over A♠K♣ for a full house and Ho mucked her cards.
