Schleicher Gets a Boat to Crack Aces

Niveau 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

The button moved all in preflop for 14,000 and was called by Gerhard Schleicher in the cutoff.

Button: AA
Gerhard Schleicher: 99

The short-stacked button was favorite to double up, especially after gaining a wheel draw on the flop of 532, but the 9 turn gave the German a set of nines. The 2 on the river gave Schleicher a boat and sent the button to the rail agonizingly short of the money.

Kohler Dodges Elimination

Niveau 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

As bubble play began, Martin Kohler's chips were in the middle against Harold Evans.

Martin Kohler: KK
Harold Evans: 76

With the board showing 9J810, it appeared the straight of Evans had cracked Kohler's kings. The river 7 rescued Kohler, as the straight on board left both players chopping the pot.

Fisher and Dopico Share the Bubble

Niveau 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Robert Fisher was forced all in from the big blind as he literally had a chip and a chair with a solitary yellow 1,000 chip. Everyone folded apart from the small blind Vern Soeldner who was forced to call.

Robert Fisher: 64
Vern Soeldner: K10

Fisher's thin hopes of making the cash increased after hitting a four on the 943 flop. The 5 did not change anything, but the 10 on the river gave Soeldner top pair and Fisher was eliminated.

At a nearby table, David Whittemore opened to 12,000 and called once William Dopico moved all in for 98,000.

William Dopico: QQ
David Whittemore: AK

After the action was held up, Dopico survived the 765 flop. Whittemore then hit the A turn, with the K river only improving his holding to eliminate Dopico.

Fisher and Dopico were eliminated together, chopping the min cash for 469th place while leaving the rest of the field in the money.

Shinichiro Hatakeyama: QQ
Dennis Hall: AQ

Hatakeyama was well in front with pocket queens, with Hall failing to catch up on the J2738 runout.

Hall was left with one yellow 1,000 chip, which he lost on the very next hand to hit the rail in the money.
