Hawkins Makes a "Bad Fold"

On a flop of A♥Q♥5♣, Maurice Hawkins checked to Taehyung Kim as he pushed out a bet of 1,500 into the pot of 4,700. Hawkins called.

The 5♠ paired the board on the turn and Hawkins checked once again before Kim fired out a bet of 4,100.

Hawkins went into the tank while talking to himself, "this might be a really bad fold. I can't just call, I'm either going to just punt to you or fold."

A few more moments went before Hawkins eventually folded and tabled A♣K♣K♠ while mucking his fourth card.

Kim chuckled as he tabled three of his own, 9♣6♣3♦, and flashed the fourth card quickly which was a picture card.

"This is why I don't fold in these events," Hawkins continued, "Everyone in these fields are so bad."

In another hand, a table over, Karim Lehoussine was all-in from the big blind against a player on the button on a board reading 4♥8♦J♥2♦.

It was top-pair for Lehoussine versus a flush-draw and an overcard for the player on the button, but the outs of Lehoussine's opponent would not materialize on the Q♦ river, sending him to the rail.

Snead Takes it on the Flop

The under-the-gun player raised to 1,200 and Steve Foutty three-bet to 3,000 before Paul Snead raised the maximum of 10,400 in the big blind.

The original raiser got out of the way quickly and Foutty made the call.

When the Q♦9♥3♥ flop hit the felt, Snead bet the pot. The dealer announced the bet was 22,700 and Foutty mucked his hand.

"Did you have aces with some of that flop?" Asked Foutty.

"Yes," Snead replied.

Both players would connect with the flop fairly well, but it was the middle position player that connected slightly better, leaving Stout with one out for the win or some straight outs for the chop.

On the turn of Q♥J♦6♦K♥, Cord Garcia checked to Jesse Yaginuma who fired a bet of 9,000 into the pot of just over 10,000. The third player in the hand moved all-in for 13,100, forcing Garcia to instantly muck and Yaginuma made the call.

The action picked up in a hand between Brandon Shack-Harris on the button and a player in the big blind on a flop reading J♥5♥5♠, and the player in the big blind check-calling a bet from Shack-Harris for 2,000.

The player in the big blind checked over to Shack-Harris once more on the 10♦ turn and this time was faced with a bet of 4,500 from Shack-Harris, which they decided to fold to.
