Hawkins Makes a "Bad Fold"

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

On a flop of AQ5, Maurice Hawkins checked to Taehyung Kim as he pushed out a bet of 1,500 into the pot of 4,700. Hawkins called.

The 5 paired the board on the turn and Hawkins checked once again before Kim fired out a bet of 4,100.

Hawkins went into the tank while talking to himself, "this might be a really bad fold. I can't just call, I'm either going to just punt to you or fold."

A few more moments went before Hawkins eventually folded and tabled AKK while mucking his fourth card.

Kim chuckled as he tabled three of his own, 963, and flashed the fourth card quickly which was a picture card.

"This is why I don't fold in these events," Hawkins continued, "Everyone in these fields are so bad."

Eliminations for Voitovs and Lehoussine

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Romans Voitovs was all-in from the small blind against an early position player.

Early Position Player: K1095
Romans Voitovs: K854

The full board ran out 38485 giving Voitovs eights full of fives and eliminating the player in early position.

No-Limit Hold'em

In another hand, a table over, Karim Lehoussine was all-in from the big blind against a player on the button on a board reading 48J2.

Player on the Button: K7
Karim Lehoussine: J9

It was top-pair for Lehoussine versus a flush-draw and an overcard for the player on the button, but the outs of Lehoussine's opponent would not materialize on the Q river, sending him to the rail.

The under-the-gun player raised to 1,200 and Steve Foutty three-bet to 3,000 before Paul Snead raised the maximum of 10,400 in the big blind.

The original raiser got out of the way quickly and Foutty made the call.

When the Q93 flop hit the felt, Snead bet the pot. The dealer announced the bet was 22,700 and Foutty mucked his hand.

"Did you have aces with some of that flop?" Asked Foutty.

"Yes," Snead replied.

Stout Left Short

Matt Stout

Pot-Limit Omaha

Matt Stout was all-in from early position against a player in middle position on a flop reading 410J

Matt Stout: 101098
Middle Position Player: AJJ2

Both players would connect with the flop fairly well, but it was the middle position player that connected slightly better, leaving Stout with one out for the win or some straight outs for the chop.

However, the 8 turn and the A river would leave Stout with the second-best hand and short on chips.

All-in Player: A10
