Mike "No Whammy" Thorpe Doubles Up
Niveau 16
: Limits 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Mike Thorpe: A♦4♦3♣/5♦4♥9♦A♥/K♦
Joao Vieira: 9♠7♦3♥/8♥10♥9♣9♥/K♠
Mike Thorpe and Joao Vieira were on fourth street and Vieira check-called a bet before fifth street went check-check. Vieira then paired his board on sixth street and bet out, whereafter Thorpe raised all in. Vieira called and showed trip nines with a straight draw, but a brick on seventh street.
Thorpe, on the other hand, squeezed a diamond on the final street while repeating "no whammy" a couple of times and scooped the pot for a full double-up.
