A First Pot For Deeb

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

New in the tournament, Shaun Deeb was in the big blind when the small blind limped. But Deeb didn't want to let his neighbor see a flop so easily, so he raised to 4,000. The small blind called.

The dealer fanned a flop of J102. Deeb bet 2,500, and the small blind check-called before the 9 landed on the turn.

Deeb fired out another bet of 6,000. But here, it was too much for the small blind, who folded.

Aggression Pays Off For Raina

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Kiran Raina

Action was opened in the hijack to 2,500. The cutoff called and action was on Kiran Raina on the button. Raina took a moment to think before landing on a three-bet to the tune of 8,000. The remaining players in the blinds folded and both the hijack and cutoff called.

The Q53 flop hit the felt and the hijack checked. The player in the cutoff then opted to lead into the three-bettor and put out 16,000. Raina was on the button with about 28,000 remaining in his stack. He didn't take long before moving in for his tournament life. The hijack tank folded and the cutoff snapped.

The cards hit their backs.

Kiran Raina: KQ
Cutoff: 85

Raina needed to fade quite a few outs. The 7 turn was clean and the 9 river sealed the deal giving Raina a pure double and putting him above average stack for the day.

30-Minute Break

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

As the late registrations are closing, the players still in the tournament have been sent on a 30-minute break instead of a 20-minute break, to allow the dealers enough time to do a color up.

The next break in three levels will be a 75-minute dinner break.

Eric "Barstool Nate" Nathan had quite the adventure — injury, lost ID, the whole nine yards — getting to Las Vegas for the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP). PokerNews caught up with the Barstool Sports personality to hear his story of why he's just now arriving at the WSOP.

The co-host of the Cracking Aces poker podcast is competing in Event #65: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em, his first bracelet event of the summer. Originally, the sports blogger and long-time poker player intended to grind a lengthy WSOP schedule, starting early in the series. So, why's he just now making his way to Sin City to play some cards?

Snowmen Melted

Niveau 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ricardo Graells was down to 22,500 chips when he moved all in from under the gun. In middle position, 2023 WSOP $1,500 Monster Stack finalist Loic Dobrigna thought about calling but folded. However, the player in the cutoff didn't hesitate and reshoved. The button and the blinds folded.

Ricardo Graells: 88
Cutoff: 1010

"I'm from Switzerland, so I have my favorite hand, snowmen," said Graells when he flipped his cards. Unfortunately for him, his snowmen melted on K7K10, which gave a set to his opponent on the turn. The dealer put an 8 on the river. But it was too late to save Graells.

Zabrodskyy Gets There

Niveau 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action was opened under the gun to 4,000. It folded to Vasyl Zabrodskyy in late position who thought for only a moment before jamming all in for his remaining 24,500. The remaining players left to act made the fold and action was back under the gun. She only took a moment before calling.

Vasyl Zabrodskyy: A8
Under The Gun: KK

The flop came 5J9 giving Zabrodskyy a flush draw to go with his one over. The turn brought an 8 giving him a pair and even more outs. The river was a 2 and Zabrodskyy catapulted into the winners seat with a flush and got a much needed double up.

Set For Graham

Niveau 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

From the middle position, Antonio Graham opened, and in the cutoff, a second player shoved for 30,500 chips. The other players to act folded, and it took less than a second for Graham to call.

Antonio Graham: QQ
Cutoff: AJ

Graham needed to avoid an ace to knock his opponent out. He did better than that, hitting a third queen on K88Q2. His stack is now over 100,000 chips.
