Rones Eliminated Midway Through Level 12
Niveau 12
: Limits 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
A battle of short stacks ensued when Todd Rones and Barry Schwartz squared off.
Schwartz open-raised in early position, prompting multiple players to fold before action fell on Rones, who was in the big blind. With a majority of his stack already committed as the blind, Rones announced an all-in bet for his remaining 2,000. Schwartz made the call and tabled A♦7♦, while Rones turned over 9♥6♥.
The flop produced 5♣A♣K♦, giving Rones a bleak outlook with two cards to go. The J♠ on the turn and 2♣ on the river ended Rones’ tournament.
