Defending champion Robert Cowen bet 7,500 on a flop of 3♥9♠8♣ and an opponent in the big blind called.
The turn came the K♠ and action checked to Cowen again, who bet 16,400 this time. His opponent quickly called once more to see the J♣ river.
Cowen now bet 46,000 and the big blind leaned back in his seat and tanked for a moment before calling. Cowen turned over A♠Q♦9♥9♦ for a set of nines and his opponent mucked.
Heads-up on a board of Q♣7♥7♣J♥, Alex Foxen made a pot-sized bet of 16,500 from the button and Tom Marchese called in the big blind.
The river came the 7♠ and Marchese checked over to Foxen, who fired out 53,400. Marchese used up a time bank chip before he called.
Foxen turned over A♣J♠7♦5♠ for quad sevens and Marchese mucked.
Three players, including Krasimir Yankov and Michael Duek, built a pot of around 120,000 heading to a flop of A♣2♠K♣.
Duek, in the small blind, led out for 40,000 and Yankov tanked for a moment before potting to 241,000. Another opponent on the button folded.
"Is that all in," Duek asked as Yankov only had a few chips behind. Duek stuck in his last chips and Yankov called.
Michael Duek: A♥J♣10♣9♥
Krasimir Yankov: A♣K♦K♥4♣
Yankov was ahead with his set of kings, while Duek had a draw to a Royal Flush. The board ran out 3♥7♦ and Duek missed everything. A count of the chips showed Yankov barely had him covered and Duek, last year's Main Event third-place finisher, became the first to hit the rail here today.
Four-handed on a flop of 4♠5♠9♠, Dylan Weisman bet 1,600 from middle position and was called by Noah Schwartz and George Wolff in the blinds.
All three players checked the K♥ turn before Schwartz led out for 4,500 on the Q♣ river.
Wolff quickly folded, and Weisman didn't take long before he joined him in the muck. Schwartz then showed his K♠Q♠J♠8♠ as he took the pot.
Tommy Le raised it up to 4,000 on the button for Jeffrey Housenbold and Noah Schwartz to call out of the blinds. The 10♦5♣2♠ flopwas checked by Housenbold and Schwartz bet 7,000. Le then raised to 21,000 for Housenbold to fold and Schwartz stuck around.
Both checked down the 7♠ turn and 6♥ river and Schwartz revealed the 10♥8♥8♣5♥ for tens and fives. Le had that beat with the A♥7♥4♥3♣ for a straight and earned the pot.
Aaron Mermelstein raised to 3,000 and then called a pot-sized three-bet to 10,800 by Richard Gryko. The A♦5♦2♠ flop was checked by Mermelstein and he then called a continuation bet for 7,000. Both checked the 9♣ turn to the 3♣ river and Mermelstein bet 10,000 for Gryko to call.
The A♥10♥6♣5♣ of Mermelstein was good enough to win the pot with his two pair.
Four players built a pot of around 40,000 heading to the 5♥6♥J♦ flop when Ka Kwan Lau bet 26,000 in middle position.
Only an opponent in the cutoff called to see the A♥ turn, where both players checked.
The river came the Q♦ and Lau fired out 35,000. The cutoff quickly folded and the recent bracelet winner took down another pot.
