Martini Chops With Wilson
Niveau 11
: Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Three ways to the 9♣8♠7♥ flop, Taylor Wilson checked out of the small blind and Julien Martini bet 9,000. Quentin Krueger folded on the button and Wilson then check-raised to 30,500. Martini raised the pot and called when Wilson jammed.
Taylor Wilson: J♥10♦4♣3♦
Julien Martini: A♣J♣10♠5♥
"Do you have a low?" Wilson asked before they had rolled over the cards and both had low draws to go with their flopped nut straight. The Q♦ turn and J♠ river changed nothing and it was a straight chop.
"If I know you have jack, ten, four, three," I would never do that," Martini said with a dry smile on the face. He escaped from a potentially costly setback and retained his profit for the day.
