2023 World Series of Poker
Lawrence Wayne and George Abi-Zeid were heads up on a board showing K♥A♦K♣4♦6♠ and a bet of 705,000 announced from Wayne.
Abi-Zeid counted out his remaining stack before making the fold. "Good laydown" said Wayne, as he added more chips to his stack.
With the recent eliminations of Warwick Mirzikinian, Danh Huynh, Tyler Gaston and Benjamin Juhasz the field was cut down to 18 with a redraw for the final three tables.
Action was caught after the turn of 4♥2♣7♦8♥, and Zachary Humphrey checked from the big blind. Dimitrios Michailidis checked from the cutoff to Brandon Shack-Harris. He made it 180,000 to see the river.
Both Humphrey and Michailidis quickly mucked their hands for Harris to take it down. Shack-Harris sits a bit over average stack after this pot.
Niveau: 24
Blinds: 25,000/50,000
Ante: 50,000
Benjamin Juhasz raised to 80,000 from the button and got called by Demitrios Michailidis in the big blind to bring out the 3♠Q♣2♣ flop.
Michailidis led out with a bet of 75,000. Juhasz called to see the K♠ hit the turn.
Action checked through to the 5♦ river.
Michailidis led out again, this time for 50,000. Juhasz thought briefly before putting out a raise to 250,000. Michailidis quickly called and turned over the K♥K♦4♣2♠, causing Juhasz to toss his cards into the muck and the dealer to push the pot to Michailidis.

For many part-time players, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a chance to get away from work and spend some time in Las Vegas playing poker and chasing a bracelet.
One of those part-time bracelet hopefuls is venture capitalist and longtime poker player Chamath Palihapitiya, an early Facebook executive and the founder and CEO of the investment firm Social Capital. After more than a decade off of the WSOP felt, the billionaire returned to the World Series to take his shot at winning a bracelet in Event #29: $100,000 High Roller.
PokerNews caught up with Palihapitiya earlier in the series as he battled in a Day 1 field that included Chance Kornuth, Alex Foxen, Chris Brewer plenty more of the world's top high-roller players.
The action was three-ways to the flop of 9♠5♦7♥, with Marc Lagaze, Ian Matakis and Danh Huynh all checking to the A♠ turn.
Matakis took the lead firing out a bet of 150,000, taking down the pot once Huynh and Lagaze folded.
At a nearby table, Huilin Chen was eliminated to bring the field down to 22 players remaining.
Action was caught on the flop of 10♠8♣Q♠, and both blinds quickly checked. Zhen Cai led out for 200,000 from the cutoff, and was three bet by Tyler Gaston to 600,000. Cai called putting his tournament life at risk as both players revealed their cards.
Zhen Cai: K♠J♠J♥8♥
Tyler Gaston: Kx9x8♠7♠
The board ran out 9♠4♠ for Cai to win the pot.
Dimitrios Michailidis raised to 100,000 and Brandon Shack-Harris called from the cutoff, leading to a 5♣4♠J♠ flop.
Both players checked to bring the 3♦ out on the turn. Action checked through again to see the Q♠ fall on the river.
Michailidis led out for 200,000 and Shack-Harris entered a short tank. After about one minute of thought, Shack-Harris put in the call and Michailidis instantly fucked face down, allowing Shack-Harris to take down the pot without having to turn his hand up.
The action was four ways to the 9♣10♦9♥ flop, with play checked around to Brandon Shack-Harris on the button.
Shack-Harris slid out a bet of 65,000, only to see Kane Kalas raise the pot for almost all of his remaining chips. Cuba Levenberry and Dimitrios Michailidis both got out of the way, leaving the decision on Shack-Harris.
A raise and call quickly followed, leaving Kalas at risk.
Kane Kalas: Q♠9♣4♠4♣
Brandon Shack-Harris: A♠J♦9♦4♥
Both players flopped trip nines, with Shack-Harris in front with an ace kicker. The 3♥ turn and K♥ river changed nothing, sending Kalas to the payout table.
