A great way to cap off the summer, 2023 World Series of Poker Event #86: $1,979 Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold’em will kick off at 12 p.m. local time, Thursday, July 13th in the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas ballroom.

Last year’s contest drew 865 entries, creating a total prize pool of $1,459,363 and a first-place prize of $276,067, which went to former professional StarCraft player, Jinho Hong. Hong outlasted a final table that included bracelet winners Daniel Weinman and Yuri Dzivielevski.

This one-of-a-kind event has Poker Hall of Famers being offered up as bounty prizes correlating with the year of their induction, meaning if a player was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988, their bounty would be worth $1,988.

Established in 1979, The Poker Hall of Fame includes poker's most influential players and other important contributors to the game. There are 32 living members, and 62 people have been given the honor in total.

The tournament saw an all-star line-up in 2022, with Hall of Famers Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Scotty Nguyen, and Todd Brunson all in the field. Other notables that turned up include Alex Foxen, Shaun Deeb, Chance Kornuth and Mike Matusow.

Players will start with 30,000 chips and play 17 40-minute levels on Day 1, with a 15-minute break every three levels and nine levels of late registration.
