2023 World Series of Poker
Alexandre Reard raised to 80,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 360,000 by Fabrice Bigot in the small bind. Reard called.
Bigot check-called a 285,000 bet from Reard on the 9♠3♣4♣ flop and both players checked on the 3♦ turn.
The J♠ completed the board and Bigot bet 500,000. Reard quickly called and Bigot showed A♦2♦. Reard turned over 7♠7♦ and was sent the pot.
Picking up the action partway through the hand, Ben Diebold in the cutoff was all in and at risk against Stephen Chidwick in the small blind.
Ben Diebold: Q♠J♥
Stephen Chidwick: A♦2♣
Diebold was marginally behind and could find no help on the 5♠3♦3♠7♦A♣ runout to bring his deep run to an end.
Elsewhere, Kubanychbek Abakirov was eliminated from the tournament.
Niveau: 23
Blinds: 20,000/40,000
Ante: 40,000
The remaining 22 players have been sent on their first 15-minute break of the day. They will return to blinds of 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante.
Fabrice Bigot raised to 75,000 from the cutoff and action folded to Tobias Schwecht in the big blind, who shoved for 450,000. Bigot instantly called to put Schewecht at risk.
Tobias Schwecht: K♠9♠
Fabrice Bigot: 10♥10♦
The 2♣K♦K♣ flop vaulted Schwecht into the lead, but the 10♣ turn gave Bigot a full house. Fortunes continued to change, however, as the 9♣ river improved Schwecht to a better full house and he doubled up.
Felipe Ramos opened to 65,000 from under the gun only to see Kubanychbek Abakirov move all in out of the big blind. Ramos, with the effective stack, thought for some time but did make the call to put himself at risk.
Felipe Ramos: 9♠9♦
Kubanychbek Abakirov: K♣10♥
Ramos was locked in a flip for his tournament life and managed to hold with the pocket pair on the Q♦6♥A♦6♦3♠ runout to double and survive.
Elsewhere, Markus Gonsalves was seen exiting the tournament area.
Phil Hellmuth opened to 65,000 from under the gun and was called by Casey Brown on the button and Turbo Nguyen in the big blind.
Nguyen checked to Hellmuth on the 5♠9♦Q♣ flop and he continued for 50,000. Brown folded but Nguyen check-raised to 200,000. Hellmuth called.
The A♠ came on the turn and Nguyen bet 150,000. Hellmuth shoved for a bit over 400,000 total and Nguyen let his hand go.
"Hundred bucks if you show a bluff," Nguyen said to Hellmuth.
"Bluff? You were drawing dead on the flop, I'm Phill fu**ing Hellmuth" Hellmuth replied as he tabled 5♣5♦ for a flopped set.
Barak Wisbrod was already all in for his last 440,000 from the big blind against Justin Liberto, who was in the hijack.
Barak Wisbrod: 3♥3♠
Justin Liberto: Q♦Q♣
The 9♠A♥A♠4♣Q♥ runout left Liberto with a full house and Wisbrod was eliminated.
Picking up the action partway through the hand, Casey Brown on the button found himself all in and at risk against Frank Lagodich from the cutoff.
Casey Brown: K♦Q♠
Frank Lagodich: A♦K♠
Brown was in rough shape, dominated by Lagodich. The flop came Q♦8♦J♥ to pair up Brown and vault him into the lead. Nothing changed on either the 5♠ turn or 9♥ river to hand Brown a fortunate double up.
