Villa Leaves Johnson Short-Stacked

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Charles Johnson opened to 125,000 from early position and Alexander Villa three-bet to 375,000 from the hijack. Johson put in the call.

The flop came 848. Johnson check-called a continuation bet of 275,000 from Villa.

Both players checked the 2 turn, leading to the Q river. Johnson checked and Villa bet 800,000.

Johnson thought about his decision for roughly 45 seconds before flicking in the call.

Johnson showed down 99 while Villa tabled AQ for a rivered queen to take down another big pot, leaving Johnson with roughly 15 big blinds in the process.

Payne Shows One as Lee Folds to a Shove

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Three-handed on a flop of 638, Joshua Payne bet 125,000 from the cutoff and Pei Li called on the button. Chris Lee, in the big blind, then raised to 525,000 and only Payne called.

The turn came the J and Lee slowed down and checked. Payne then fired out 575,000 and Lee called to the Q river.

He checked again and Payne moved all in, easily covering Lee's remaining 1,400,000. Lee tanked for several minutes as Payne showed the 5 as he took the pot.

"This is the most action table," a tablemate said.

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Bryan Obregon
Bryan Obregon

Bryan Obregon and Pier Papadia were heads up on a flop of KA8. A massive pot of 800,000 had already been amassed and Obregon , from the big blind, check-called a 250,000 bet from Papadia from middle position.

The J turn and J river were then checked down and Obregon tabled AK for two pair, aces and kings. Papadia did not have something that could beat it and mucked his cards.

One hand later, it folded to Obregon in the small blind and he put big blind David Mzareulov all in for 775,000. Mzareulov folded and Obregon stacked up some more chips.

Rigby Finds a Double

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Nicholas Rigby opened to 225,000 from middle position and then called after Ryan Brown three-bet to 625,000 from late position.

Rigby checked on the 5Q3 flop. Brown decided to put his opponent all in and Rigby, with a "well guys if this is it it's been a hell of a run" to his rail made the call for his tournament life.

Nicholas Rigby: AQ
Ryan Brown: AJ

Rigby held a commanding lead but the 10 turn did give Brown a gutshot. It did not come in, however, on the 4 river as Rigby raked in the chips in his quest to rebuild the big stack he had earlier in the day.

Aguilera Unhappy With Tablemate

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Raj Vohra opened to 110,000 from early position and the player on his direct left called. Jose Aguilera made it 440,000 from the button which prompted Vogra to four-bet to 1,150,000.

Aguilera went into the tank and after a minute, the player who "called-folded" asked the dealer to start the clock.

This upset Aguilera as he felt not enough time had passed. The floor came to the table and gave Aguilera an additional 30 seconds before the clock started. Aguilera released his hand before that the countdown began.

Aguilera and his tablemate then got into it, and were verbally jousting for quite some time after the hand finished.

Muller Keeps Ramsden's Bad Day Going

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Curtis Muller open-shipped all in for 720,000 in early position and the action folded around to Jacque Ramsden in the big blind who quickly made the call.

Curtis Muller: A8
Jacque Ramsden: QQ

The flop came 763 and Muller picked up a flush draw. The 4 peeled off on the turn to give Muller his flush and the 2 was insignificant on the river.

"Been happening all day," Ramsden said who was left with just 10,000 chips. "What a needle too," he continued, referring to the fact he was all in next hand from the small blind.

Nguyen Doubles Through Brown

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Picking up the action on a flop of 1076, Huy Nguyen from late position was all in and at risk against Michael Brown in the big blind.

Huy Nguyen: KQ
Michael Brown: A7

Brown was ahead with his pair but Nguyen had plenty of outs with two overs and a flush draw. The 7 turn left Nguyen needing to find a diamond on the river and that he did after the 9 rolled off the deck to hand the at risk player a full double.
