For the second time in three years, Nicholas Rigby was eliminated on Day 6 of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, this time for losing a race on the featured table.
The Pittsburgh area poker player who was one of the more entertaining characters in the field, went out in 131st place ($67,700) in the largest Main Event ever (10,043 entries). He finished 52nd in 2021, and like this year, spent much of his final few sessions seated at the PokerGO live-stream tables.
Richard Ryder opened to 300,000 from middle position and then called after Daniel Weinman three-bet to 850,000 from late position.
Ryder check-called a bet of 425,000 from Weinman on a flop of Q♥9♦2♣.
Action checked through the 9♠ turn to the 4♦ river at which point both players checked once more. "I'm good" announced Ryder as he tabled 10♠10♣ but unfortunately for him he was mistaken as Weinman held J♥J♣ to pip Ryder to the pot in their second encounter in short order

Daniel Scroggins raised to 350,000 on the button and Anirban Das three-bet to 925,000 in the small blind. What followed was the cold four-bet to 2,250,000 by Liran Betito in the big blind and Scroggins folded.
Das gave it some thirty seconds and called as they headed to a flop of A♣9♥5♦. The check of Das saw Betito continued for 975,000 only for Das to pull off a check-raise to 2,600,000.
Betito folded within a few seconds and before he raked in the pot, Das grabbed his cards and flipped over the 8♦2♣ much to the surprise of everyone at the table.

Picking up the action on the flop, Richard Ryder on the button was involved in a hand with Daniel Weinman in the big blind as well as Pavel Dyachenko in the small blind. With the board reading 3♦J♠2♥ action checked to Ryder and he led out for 325,000. Dyachenko quickly got out of the way but Weinman made the call to see a turn.
The turn came 5♦, prompting both players to check through to the 3♥ river at which point Weinman took over the betting lead, making it 450,000 to go. Ryder made the call and tabled Q♠J♣, strong enough to take down the pot and add to his already large stack.
