Martin Fades the River

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In one of the first hands after the break, PokerNews caught this hand on the turn with the board showing Q♥9♠Q♣8♠ and the player on the button having bet 5,200. This was met by a check-raise all in by Bruce Martin out of the big blind. The raise was for the rest of the buttons' remaining 16,000 chips. After some thought, the button put in the call.

The river came the 4♣ and Martin had eliminated the button from the event.

Franklin Squeaks out a Win

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Raymond Franklin raised from the cutoff position to 1,300 and Kyna England on the button put in the reraise to 3,200. Franklin made the call and the flop came out with K♥8♠Q♦. Franklin check-called England's continuation-bet of 2,500.

The turn arrived with 5♣ and Franklin checked again, instigating another bet of 7,800 from England, which received a quick call.

On the river 10♦ both players checked and Franklin turned over the A♦J♥ and England mucked giving Franklin the pot with his Broadway straight.

Balfour Wins with King-high

After the action had folded to Sean Balfour on the button he raised to 900. The big blind player then three-bet to 3,000. Belfour made the call to see a flop.

The monotone flop of J♥6♥9♥ was checked through, and both players checked again on the board-pairing 8♣ turn.

Once the J♣ came on the river and both players checked, the big blind flipped over K♥4♠ for just king-high. Much to his surprise, Balfour took down the pot with K♣10♣ for king-high with a higher kicker.

The flop came 5♦8♠3♣, prompting the opponent and Latuff to both check.

The turn brought the K♠ and saw both players check again.

With a 4♥ completing the board, Latuff checked and his opponent made a half-pot sized bet. Latuff called and showed 9♥8♣, and the button mucked their hand.

The second Daily DeepStack of the WSOP gets underway at 4 p.m. and is a single-day event. It comes with a $400 buy-in, which buys entrants a 30,000 starting stack.

Late registration is open until the start of Level 9 (approx. 7:35 p.m.) and unlimited reentries are permitted. Levels are 20 minutes long, with 15 and 20 minute breaks sprinkled throughout the day.

Blinds began at 100/100, and a big blind ante is active from the beginning.

Reid Playing to Win

Terrance Reid raised it up from the cutoff to 500 and the big blind made the call.

The flop showed Q♠5♠J♦ and Reid immediately moved all in and the big blind quickly folded.

The big blind stated, "Just because you are mad at him," referring to the previous hand.

Reid turned over his cards A♠J♠ and announced humbly, "No that was a just a good flop".
