Metalidi Takes Chunk from Ma

Artem Metalidi raised 80,000 at the cutoff and received calls from a player on the button and WSOP bracelet winner Long Ma, who was in the small blind.

The player in the big blind folded and the dealer fanned 7♦10♠K♦ on the flop.

Ma checked and Metalidi bet 180,000, which drew calls from the button and Ma.

The dealer then placed 6♥ on the turn and Ma led out with 300,000. Metaldi moved all in for his remaining 1,820,000 to put himself at risk.

The button folded and Ma immediately called.

Long Ma: 8♦6♦

Metalidi’s pocket aces were ahead, but he had a lot to dodge as Ma had multiple outs to a gutshot straight draw and a diamond flush draw.

The aces held after the 4♠ appeared on the river to give Metalidi a full double up.

Vazquez was hesitant, but eventually made the fold for Parys to take the pot.
