Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2024 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.
Today, the first of this year's two razz events, Event #40: $1,500 Razz, is getting underway here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. This three-day event kicks off at 2 p.m. Starting stacks are 25,000 and anyone lucky enough to bag some chips at the end of the day will return at 1 p.m. on June 15 for Day 2 of 3.
Day 1 will last until the end of Level 15, with 40-minute levels on Day 1 (changing to 60-minute levels on Day 2 and 3). Today's levels will be broken up by a 15-minute break after every third level.
Last year's $1,500 Razz bracelet went to David "ODB" Baker, joining two other bracelets in his trophy cabinet. Baker had to beat Justin Liberto heads up to top out the record breaking 556-player field.
The top prize in last year's event was $152,991 from a total prize pool of $742,260. On winning this prize, Baker said, “If you polled poker players to find out who loved poker the most, my name would be on the top ten list. I live for this.”
