Dylan Weisman got his final 800,000 or so chips in from the cutoff against Michael Jozoff under the gun.
Dylan Weisman: 10♠10♦
Michael Jozoff: A♣K♦
"That's a good start," Jozoff commented as the flop came 5♣3♠A♦. The 6♣ turn or 4♥ river could not save Weisman, as he departed minutes before registration would close.
Ren Lin jammed for the last 140,000 and Nick Petrangelo in the small blind isolated with a large reraise.
Ren Lin: Q♥Q♠
Nick Petrangelo: A♣5♦
The "Lady Gagy" of Lin held on a board of J♣9♠4♥3♣8♣ and Lin scored a first double.
Shortly after, he got it in again with the J♦10♦ and was looked up by Michael Jozoff with 7♣7♥.
The board ran out K♠3♣5♥K♦J♥ and Lin hit superior two pair on the river, then walked over to Jozoff for a little punch and joked "you gamble too much".
Playing six-handed, Adrian Mateos raised from under the gun to 80,000 and Isaac Haxton defended his big blind.
They saw a flop of 3♣10♠7♠ which Haxton checked, Mateos bet 120,000, and Haxton called.
Both checked the 3♦ turn to see the J♥ fall on the river. Haxton announced a bet of 90,000, and after some thinking, Mateos called.
Haxton flipped 6♦5♣ for a busted straight draw, and Matoes tabled A♦K♣ for ace-high to scoop the pot.
The action was caught on a turn of A♣2♣5♥2♦, with 350,000 chips in the middle. Viktor Blom checked to Chris Hunichen, who fired a bet of 125,00 on the button. Blom called in the hijack and the 4♦ river completed the board.
Both players checked it down, leaving Blom to show A♦10♦ for top pair. Hunichen tabled K♣10♣ for a busted flush draw and the pot was shipped to Blom.
Arriving on a turn of 6♥6♠7♥Q♠, Isaac Haxton checked from the small blind before Roberto Perez made a bet of 170,000 from the big blind, into a pot of 300,000.
Haxton then spent some time in the tank before jamming all in. Roberto let out a large sigh but quickly made the call for his tournament life.
Roberto Perez: 7♠2♠
Isaac Haxton: K♣6♣
The 8♥ river did not bring a seven or flush for Perez, and Haxton's trip sixes eliminated the Spanish player from the High Roller. On another table, Alex Kulev was also seen departing the tournament area.
Gregory Jensen moved all-in for 145,000 from an early position and was called by Masashi Oya as well as John Kincaid in the blinds. The flop brought 10♠7♦4♠ and Oya check-folded when Kincaid bet 100,000.
Gregory Jensen: Q♥J♣
John Kincaid: 2♣2♦
The 5♣ turn and 9♦ river kept the deuces ahead and sent Jensen to the rail.
Roberto Perez opened to 80,000 from middle position and Seth Davies three-bet to 210,000 from the button. Kathy Lehne then shoved all in from the big blind for 690,000, which got Perez to fold, but Davies made the call.
Kathy Lehne: A♠A♣
Seth Davies: A♥K♠
Lehne improved to top set on the A♦Q♦J♠ flop but David did pick up a Broadway draw. The turn 6♣ and river 5♠ were both bricks which meant Lehne took the pot and left Davies short-stacked.
Ren Lin opened from under the gun and Michael Jozoff three-bet in the small blind. Lin four-bet jammed and Jozoff snap-called with a little over 1,000,000.
Michael Jozoff: K♣K♦
Ren Lin: A♠K♥
Jozoff was able to dodge an ace as the board ran out 7♠J♠6♥3♥5♣ to earn the young grinder an early double.
Dylan Weisman from under the gun and Michael Jozoff from the button got their chips into the middle with Jozoff at risk for 435,000.
Michael Jozoff: K♣K♠
Dylan Weisman: Q♠Q♥
Both players hit a set on the K♦7♠6♠Q♣4♠ runout and Jozoff doubled.
Aleksejs Ponakovs moved all-in for 290,000 in the small blind and fellow short stack Alex Kulev, who had him barely covered, gave it long consideration before coming along.
Aleksejs Ponakovs: A♣7♣
Alex Kulev: 10♣9♥
The J♦5♠3♥A♠2♦ runout kept Ponakovs in contention while Kulev plummeted even further.
