Hand started with an open from Joseph Carden in middle position. Punnat Punsri was in the hijack and three-bet. Action folded to Clemen Deng in the big blind. Deng shoved. Carden folded and Deng called it off.
Uri Reichenstein raised to 50,000 in early position, and was called by Logan Anderson in middle position, and Andjelko Andrejevic in the big blind.
The flop came 2♦9♠8♠ and after Andrejevic and Reichenstein checked, Anderson bet out 175,000. Andrejevic then raised all in, which got a quick fold from Reichenstein, and Anderson made the call for 475,000 in total.
Logan Anderson: A♠9♥
Andjelko Andrejevic: 6♠2♠
Anderson was ahead with his top pair versus the bottom pair and flush draw of Andrejevic. But the K♠ put Andrejevic in the lead with a flush. Anderson was now the one looking for a spade to make a higher flush, but the 10♦ sealed his fate, and was eliminated from the tournament.
Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the eighth episode, Connor speaks with legendary UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer in an exclusive in-depth interview after Buffer's deep run in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 High Roller. Buffer, a longtime poker player, finished in eighth place for a career-best $212,423 after kicking off Day 3 with his trademark "it's time" introduction.
Buffer talked about finding his long-lost half-brother, Michael Buffer, and becoming his manager, the early days of the UFC, the similarities between poker and martial arts, his relationships with Joe Rogan and Dana White, playing poker with Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio and the time he injured himself in a poker tournament before announcing the biggest UFC fight in history.
According to the players, Sami Bechahed minraised from the cutoff. Ronald Sewell on the button called, as did the player in the big blind.
The flop of 4♠8♠2♦ got checked around.
The turn came the 4♣. Bechaed bet 50,000, Sewell called and the big blind folded.
The river was the K♥. Bechahed bet 265,000 and Sewell came over the top, putting his opponent all in for 685,000. Bechahed called. Sewell showed K♦Jx and Bechahed turned over A♠4♠ to take down a pot of around 1,650,000 chips with his trip fours.
Sewell was left with just 80,000 chips, but was soon able to run them up to 360,000. On his last hand, he moved all in over a raise by a player from middle position. Erland Melsom was next to act and went all in. Other players folded.
Ronald Sewell A♦7♦
Erland Melsom: 2♥2♦
The flop 8x7♣2♣ gave Melson a set, and the turn J♠ and river 3♣ finished the job of sending Sewell to the rail.
Action folded to Anthony Hu on the button who raised to 150,000, leaving only 20,000 chips behind. When the small blind folded, Clemen Deng in the big blind three-bet him all in. After having the clock called him while waiting for another player to bust to make the pay jump, Hu eventually did call, leaving himself at risk.
Anthony Hu: A♠Q♥
Clemen Deng: A♥A♣
Hu ran into the aces of Deng in the big blind, but the 7♠9♥Q♣ flop did give him some hope of cracking the aces. But the K♥ on the turn and J♠ on the river, officially eliminated Hu.
Ben Keeline raised to 50,000 from early position. Gianluca Cedolia jammed for 230,000 from the small blind and Keeline called when it was back on him.
Gianluca Cedolia: A♣J♦
Ben Keeline: A♠Q♦
Cedolia was in trouble but the flop brought solace as it came 5♣4♠J♣. The turn was the 7♣ and the river came the K♦ to give Cedolia a big double up and leave Keeline short stacked.
Jonathan Schwartz raised to 50,000 on the button and was called by Minh Nguyen in the small blind. The big blind folded, and it was heads up to the flop.
The flop came 2♣7♦9♥ which both players checked to the turn.
On the turn was the 3♥ and Nguyen bet out 165,000. After taking some time, Schwartz elected to make the call.
The river was the 10♠ and Nguyen bet all in for Schwartz last 410,000 chips, and which he snap folded, to give Nguyen the pot.
