Mathis Sent to Rail

Martin Mathis
Martin Mathis

In a stunning development, start of day co-chipleader Martin Mathis is no longer in the tournament.

Mathis, whose stack was taking a hit in the first two levels, moved all in for his remaining stack of a little more than 4,000,000 in the face of an early position raise from Adam Croffut.

Croffut immediately called to put Mathis at risk.

Martin Mathis: AJx All in
Adam Croffut: KK

The dealer fanned 24Q on the flop, which provided no help to Mathis.

The 7 on the turn and Q gave Croffut the pot with his kings and eliminated Mathis, who started Day 4 with more than 13 million.

Bittger Scores a Triple Up

Niveau 32 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Stefan Bittger started a chain reaction when he moved all in out of early position for his remaining stack.

Action folded around to the small blind, where Nariman Yaghmai called to put Bittger at risk. Then it got interesting when Max Neugebauer, who had both players covered, moved all in.

Yaghmai sat up in his chair and took a deep breath before slowly exhaling. He then folded and Bittger and Neugebauer tabled their hands.

Stefan Bittger: AK All in
Max Neugebauer: AQ

Bittger’s Big Slick was ahead and he seized control of the hand when the dealer fanned 73K on the flop. He cemented the hand when K arrived on the turn and the 5 fell harmlessly on the river.
