Hook Knocks the Wind Out of Vaskaboinikau

Calum Grant

Niveau 17 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Charles Hook jammed for 2,850,000 from the hijack and was snap-called by Mikalai Vaskaboinikau from the big blind.

Charles Hook: K♠K♥ All in
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau: A♠A♥

It was the ultimate cooler and Hook had one foot out of the door until the K♣J♦8♠ put him ahead of the pocket rockets.

Vaskaboinikau was sickened, puffing out his cheeks after falling behind in a huge spot.

The 2♥ turn kept Hook ahead and the 7♥ river confirmed his double up.

"I got lucky there," said Hook in a hushed voice.
