Straight Versus Set to Send Huge Pot to Suvarna
Niveau 17
: Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Mikita Badziakouski raised to 400,000 from under the gun, Chris Hunichen called in middle position, as did Santhosh Suvarna, in the big blind.
The 9♥8♥5♠ flop saw Suvarna elect to lead, betting out for 575,000, Badziakouski folded and Hunichen raised to 1,900,000. Suvarna called.
The J♦ turn saw Suvarna play out of flow again, jamming for his last 4,875,000. Hunichen snap-called.
Santhosh Suvarna: 10♦7♣
Chris Hunichen: 9♠9♦
Hunichen had flopped a set, but was behind the turned straight of Suvarna. The K♣ river failed to pair the board and this huge pot was shipped to Suvarna, leaving Hunichen short.
