Bob O'Mera raised to 7,000 from under the gun, leaving only 1,500 chips behind. A player in middle position made the call, leaving the players heads up to the flop.

The flop came A♥J♥Q♠ and O'Mera went all in and was called by his opponent.

O'Mera was relived to avoid seeing his opponent have an ace and would just need to fade a king to give his opponent a straight. The board ran out 7♠ on the turn and J♦ on the river, and his pocket kings were still best, securing the double up.

Action was caught on the flop of Q♦9♥3♣. Bracelet-winner Susan Faber was first to act, putting in the last of her chips. She was quickly called by her opponent in the hand, Dennis Stevermer, who was in middle position.

Faber’s good-looking hand was good for second pair, but she needed help against Stevermer’s kings. However, the turn came the 6♥ and the 7♣, respectively, and Faber did not improve. Faber had made quite an impression with her table mates, who made it clear it was a pleasure playing with her and even gave her a round of applause as she left the tournament area.

Piotrowski Gets Tricky

When it folded to John Piotrowski in the hijack, he raised to 2,300, and was called by the big blind.

The flop came 8♦J♣2♣ and both players checked to the turn.

After the 9♠ on the turn, the big blind bet out 4,100 before being raised to 9,500 by Piotrowski. The big blind elected to make the call and see a river.

The river was the A♠ and once the big checked, Piotrowski bet 13,500. After thinking over his decision, the big blind folded his hand and gave the pot to Piotrowski.

Blickenstaff with Big Blind Special

The player on the button limped, as did the small blind and David Blickenstaff checked from the big blind. The flop came out with 9♥2♠3♦ and the blinds both checked to the button who bet out 3,600. The small blind folded and Blickenstaff made the call.

Both players checked the 5♣ on the turn.

The river 2♦ had Blickenstaff betting 4,300 and the button called.

The button hesitated as Blickenstaff showed K♦2♣ for trips and announced, "It was the big blind special". The button mucked and indicated he was coming for Blickenstaff.
