Couden Survives

Niveau 26

Joey Couden: 87/9632/4 All in
Yuval Bronshtein: A8/548A/Q
Nikolay Ponomarev: Ax2x/64J10/Xx
Jon Turner: XxXx/96J7 -- folded sixth street

Jon Turner completed and Yuval Bronshtein raised. Joey Couden then three-bet all in for less with Nikolay Ponomarev calling and Turner committing the extra few chips as well.

Action checked through fourth street to fifth street where Bronshtein led out. Both Turner and Ponomarev called.

Sixth street saw Bronshtein bet again. Ponomarev called once more while Turner chose to get out of the way.

No more money went into the pot on the river. Couden managed to take the low half of the pot to survive while Bronshtein's aces up were sufficient to win the high.

Daniel Blum Eliminated in 16th Place ($5,807)

Niveau 26
Daniel Blum
Daniel Blum

Daniel Blum had been left short by Jon Turner in a three-way hand that also involved Joey Couden. A couple of hands later, Blum found himself all in and at risk against Nikolay Ponomarev.

At the neighboring table, James Cheung was also all in. With a pay jump on the line, play slowed down a bit but Cheung ended up chopping the pot to survive. Blum, on the other hand, was not so fortunate as Ponomarev scooped him holding trip nines to send Blum to the payout desk in 16th place.

Turner Scoops Into The Lead

Niveau 26

Action was picked up on sixth street in a massive pot with Joey Couden, Daniel Blum, and Jon Turner all having reached that street. Over 800,000 chips were in the middle.

Jon Turner: XxXx/3493/Xx
Joey Couden: XxXx/7KA8/Xx
Daniel Blum: XxXx/6489/Xx

Action saw players check around to Blum who bet and Couden called. Turner raised and both Blum and Couden called.

On seventh street, action checked through with Turner turning over A63 for trip treys and it was good for the pot to send Turner into the chip lead and leave Couden and Blum short.

Gregory Yohn

Gregory Yohn completed with a 4 and Kenneth Kemple raised with an 8 up which saw Yohn call.

Gregory Yohn: A6/49J5/6 All in
Kenneth Kemple: A9/8597/Q

Yohn check-called a bet from Kemple on fourth street.

On fifth street Yohn sighed and moved all in for his last bet and Kemple called.

A Star-Studded 17 Return To Day 3 of the $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo Eight or Better

Jon Turner
Jon Turner

Today kicks off the final day of Event #69: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better at the 2024 WSOP. One of the most popular split-pot game variants, the best mixed game players in the world came out to play this tournament and saw the field get whittled down to just 17 hopefuls. Each one of them is guaranteed a minimum of $5,807, but all eyes remain on the first place prize of $153,730.

Leading the way is Christian Roberts, who bagged 2,380,000. Roberts’ other bracelet is in no-limit hold'em, but he possesses cashes in mixed game tournaments dating back many years. He looks to put some variety into his bracelet collection with his run here. Sitting behind him is Jon Turner, who ended the day with 1,730,000. Turner looks to find his first WSOP bracelet in this ever growing field.
