2024 World Series of Poker
Picking up the action on the turn, David "Bakes" Baker on the button was involved in a hand with Sean Marshall in late position.
With the board reading 9♠A♣2♠7♣, Marshall checked. Baker bet 3,200 and was called.
The 10♠ river saw Marshall lead out for 8,000. Baker quickly called but mucked after Marshall turned over K♠6♠ for the second nuts to take a hit to his stack.
With two players seeing a board of A♣5♣6♦ and about 2,000 in the middle Juha Helppi checked from the blinds and Ricardo Nagatomo bet 600 in position. Helppi made the call.
Both players checked the 5♠ turn leading to the 2♠ river. Helppi bet 2,100 and Nagatomo made the call.
Helppi tabled 8♦7♠ for a missed straight draw while Nagatomo turned over Q♦Q♥ for queens up to take the pot.
Action was picked up on the river with 32,800 in the pot with two players in the hand on a board showing 4♣Q♦2♦Q♥K♣.
Asem Alsaadi lead out for a bet of 6,000 before Samuel Bifarella raised all in for 31,100. After sitting in the tank for over a minute, Alsaadi mucked A♠Q♣ for trip queens face up to give the pot to Bifarella.
Alsaadi saved his tournament life with the fold, as Bifarella tabled K♠K♥ for a rivered full house.
The initial schedule — US and international — is out for the 2024-2025 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) season, and it should create some excitement within the poker community.
Action for the 20th Circuit season kicks off at a familiar spot — Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma — on July 17, the same day as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event concludes. There will also be a return to the same casino in October.
There are 18 stops — 13 in the US and five in other countries — on the 2024 portion of the WSOPC schedule. That includes five different countries and eight US states.
Alexander Ravich raised to 1,000 in early position, Mark Richens three-bet to 3,000 in the cutoff, and Ravich called.
The flop came A♣9♠9♥ and Richens continued for 1,500. Ravich called and both players checked the 6♠ turn.
Ravich led out for 2,500 on the 2♥ river and Richens called. Ravich turned over Q♦Q♥ and Richens tossed two jacks into the muck.
"Good bet," a tablemate told Ravich after the hand.
Erdal Gulseven opened to 800 from under the gun and he was called by both players in the blinds.
All three of them quickly checked the 9♠10♥5♥ flop, but on the 7♦ turn, the small blind bet 1,100. He was called twice.
The A♣ didn't bring any more action and the small blind flipped over J♦10♠ for a pair. However the big blind had K♣10♣ to win the pot, as Gulseven mucked his cards.
Eliran Argelazi, Gabriel Nastasa, and Niklas Astedt saw a flop of 4♦7♥10♥. Argelazi and Botteli checked to Astedt on the button. He bet 1,700 and only Argelazi called.
Both players chose to check the A♣ turn to see the 8♥ appear on the river. Argelazi led out for 2,400 and got snap-called by Astedt.
Argelazi sheepishly showed Q♥J♦ for just queen-high. Astedt won the pot with A♦2♦ for a turned pair of aces.
Radoslav Stoyanov raised to 800 from early position and Colten Yamagishi called from the big blind.
The flop came J♥5♣Q♦ and Yamagishi checked to Stoyanov. He continued for 800 and received a call from Yamagishi.
While the turn peeled the 6♠ Yamagishi again checked. Stoyanov fired for 3,000 and Yamagishi found the call.
The river was the 4♣ and both players checked the river. Yamagishi revealed A♥A♣ to take the pot.
Under the gun and early position both limped in before middle position raised to 800. Takehiko Nakajima three-bet to 2,300 from the hijack, bringing along both under the gun and middle position to a flop.
Nakajima continued for 3,500 on a disconnected 4♦2♥J♣ flop. Only middle position called.
The turn A♠ peeled off and Nakajima fired 7,000 but his opponent released his hand.
