William Jarman opened to 500 from the hijack and Jenny Ding three-bet to 1,400 from the cutoff. Stuart Taylor called in the big blind and Jarman called as well.

The flop came 4♦7♠8♦ and action checked around to Ding who bet 2,500. Both opponents made the call.

All three players checked the 10♣ turn leading to the 5♥ river. Taylor checked, Jarman bet 5,000, Ding called and Taylor folded, showing that he had 10♥9♥ for top pair before mucking.

Jarman tabled A♦6♦ for a straight to take down a nice early pot.

2020 Winner Takes His Seat

The 2020 WSOP Main Event Champion Damian Salas has just taken his seat in the Horseshoe Ballroom Orange section.

The Argentine pro has the distinction of winning the once-in-a-lifetime pandemic-induced Main Event format where he won the international tournament final table in Rozvadov and then defeated Joseph Hebert, who was the American champion, in a heads-up duel for the official Main Event title.

His title banner hangs with all the others, with no rail or celebration behind him as a sign of the times.

Salas was already a known entity before his title as he made the Main Event final table in 2017 where he finished in 7th place and also had a very deep run in 2022 with a 27th place finish.
