Andrew Kelsall raised to 1,100 from the hijack, the small blind called, as did Jin Ro, in the big blind.

The action checked to Kelsall on the J♠K♣3♦ flop, who bet out 1,400. Only Ro called.

The 2♠ turn saw a repeat of the action, this time Kelsall sized up to 2,700.

The 6♣ river saw Ro play in flow. Kelsall fired a third shell for 7,300 and Ro eventually made the call.

"You're good," said Kelsall, prompting Ro to table K♥10♦ for top pair, winning him this pot.

On a board of 7♠A♠4♦Q♣9♥ there were around 20,000 chips in the pot when Michael Gathy shoved the river for a little over 20,000, and Eric Yanovsky made the call.

Gathy flipped over Q♥Q♦ for a flopped a set, and Yanovsky mucked.

Robert Varkonyi opened to 1,000 from middle position and found one caller in Shunsuke Tokoo in the big blind.

Tokoo check-called a 2,000 bet from Varkonyi on the 10♠4♥9♠ flop and then both players checked on the 5♦ turn.

The 8♦ completed the board and Tokoo led out for 3,000.

Varkonyi thought a while and decided to put in calling chips and Tokoo turned over J♣8♥ for a rivered pair of eights. Varkonyi couldn't beat it and mucked — conceding the pot to Tokoo.

Action was picked up on the turn with the board reading J♦4♦4♥9♣. Immo Drobnik bet 2,000 from middle position. Thomas Boivin was in the small blind and raised it up to 10,000. Drobnik three-bet to 26,000 which was enough to put Boivin all in as he thought about it for a while before he called.

Boivin would need the final four in the deck to stay alive the river was the 9♠ and Boivin was eliminated.

A player in late position opened to 1,200 and was called by a player in the cutoff. Brian Deutschmeister three-bet to 5,000 out of the small blind, getting a fold from the original raiser but a call from the cutoff player.

Both players checked through the 10♦K♦8♥ flop to the 3♦ turn at which point Deutschmeister bet out 5,000. The cutoff made the call to see a river.

Deutschmeister bet again following the 6♠ river, this time making it 7,000. After some thought, his opponent called but mucked after Deutschmeister tabled A♣A♥ to pick up a healthy pot.

Schrack Bests Maskill at Showdown

Maxwell Schrack raised to 1,200 from under the gun, receiving calls from Jack Maskill, in the small blind, and the big blind.

The 7♠4♥Q♥ flop saw the action check to Schrack, who continued for 1,300. Both players called

The 7♣ turn checked through to the 2♠ on the river. Maskill took the lead for 1,200 and both the big blind and Schrack made the call.

Maskill tabled J♠J♦, which was good enough to see the big blind muck. However, Schrack tabled A♦Q♣ for the winner.

Papazian Muscles Up on Deeb

A river showdown between WSOP bracelet winners took place shortly after the dinner break.

Action picked up on the river after a player at the table waved over PokerNews to witness what was happening.

The board showed 3♣5♥A♥4♥Q♠ and two-time bracelet winner Alexandru Papazian bet 75,000 into six-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb. The two players were sitting next to each other, and Deeb had position on Papazian’s immediate left.

Deeb only had approximately 19,500 and he was at risk with a call if he was wrong. Deeb went deep in the tank, alternating counting out his chips multiple times and looking at the board.

“Take your time,” a player said across the table to Deeb.

Papazian was motionless and didn’t say a word.

After an extended period of time elapsed, Deeb picked up his cards and showed Papazian A♠ before tossing his hand to the dealer.

Papazian moved his cards forward and gave Deeb permission to turn over one of them. Deeb reached down and turned over the Q♥.

A player in middle position raised to 1,200 and was called by Eli Elezra in the hijack and the player in the big blind.

It was checked to the initial raiser, who bet 1,200 on the 4♣6♠4♠ flop. Elezra raised to 3,500 and it was folded back to the initial bettor, who called.

Both players proceeded to check down on the K♦ turn and 7♦ river and Elezra's opponent tabled A♠J♠.

Elezra turned over 6♥3♥ for sixes and fours and was sent the pot.
