Hellmuth Can't Find a Fold

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

After pulling off a bluff with jack-high against Arthur Morris on the PokerGO livestream, Phil Hellmuth tangled with the same player in one of the biggest Day 1c feature table pots.

The hand began with Damien Gayer raising from an early position to 1,200 with A3, and then Morris called with 88. Hellmuth, in position against those two players, opted for a call with JJ, as did James Minghini, holding A3 on the button.

Michael Cervantes, in the big blind with K6, also came along for the ride to see a flop of 6104, not much of an improvement for any of the five players. Action checked to Hellmuth, and he bet 4,000 with an over pair, receiving a call only from Morris, who was drawing to a two-outer that would come on the 8 turn.

Morris would check his set, and Hellmuth would bet 8,000 this time before being check-raised to 22,000. The "Poker Brat" begrudgingly called.

When the K appeared on the turn, it gave Hellmuth an over card to his pair, but he could not find a fold facing a 35,000-chip bet and he lost approximately half his stack in the pot. Hellmuth was still steaming about the turn card five minutes after the hand concluded.

Lichtenberger Wins Without a Showdown

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Action folded around to the blinds, where the player in the small blind raised to 1,500 and Andrew Lichtenberger called in the big blind.

Lichtenberger called an 800 bet from his opponent on the AAJ flop and a 3,500 bet from his opponent on the Q turn.

The small blind checked on the 6 river, prompting a 9,000 bet from Lichtenberger. His opponent folded after a bit of thought and Lichtenberger collected the pot without showing.

Graner Chips Up while Trakett Chips Down

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Jonathan Tackett raised to 1,200 from early position, Stephen Graner three-bet to 3,600 in middle position and the small blind cold called.

The action checked to Graner, who bet out 4,000 on the 3A4 flop. The small blind and Tackett made a quick fold.

Graner claimed this pot to propel him to nearly three starting stacks, while Tacket was left short.

Barker Catches Nitsche Bluffing

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Myles Barker opened to 1,300 from early position and received a call from Dominik Nitsche in the cutoff.

Barker continued for 1,800 on the 54A flop and was called by Nitchse.

The 9 turn saw Barker slow down, checking to Nitsche, who fired off 8,000. Barker responded with a raise to 18,000 and was met by an instant fold from Nitsche as he took a hit to his stack.

Mantovani Hits the Best Set to Double Up

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Steven "Cuz" Buckner limped from under the gun, then Alexandre Mantovani to his left raised to 2,500.

The big blind called, as well as Buckner to see the 1068 flop where Mantovani continued for 3,500. However the small blind check-raised to 10,100 to make Buckner fold, but Mantovani chose to go all-in for 30,000. The big blind called.

Alexandre Mantovani: 1010 All in
Big blind: 88

The 56 runout completed the board and Mantovani doubled up with the best set.

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Israel Colangelo jammed on a flop of 1062 for about 30,000. Adam Agaev only had about 10 big blinds left and he went into the blender, seemingly in two minds of what to do.

Eventually he opted to fold and preserve his small stack.
